Works good for my tripod while handgun hunting. Just wished it closed up 1/4” more

I mounted this on my tripod and it really helps to stabilize the rifle. It is easy to use and does not damage the rifle.

I thought I had taken some photos of this before borrowing it to my son but can't find them now so no photos to include but I did want to review this rest. We actually have another setup that we have used for years but now that my son is an adult and living with his family somewhere else, we are finding ourselves in need of another one. We do photography so we already have extra tripods so all we needed was a mount like this and so far, it's done the job exactly as we expected. The mount tightens down nicely and with the soft sides you don't have to worry about scuffing up your gun and yet it holds it right where and how you need it. They built it with a 3/8th and 1/4 size receiver holes so it should work with pretty much any base that you plan to use it with. So far, we really don't have any complaints but if issues do come up, I will be sure to come back on and update my review. At this point I think I can recommend this to anyone who may be looking at it right now.

I was actually pleasantly surprised as to the quality of the build. Definitely has some weight to it which is a good thing. The only issue I have is I am using it to hold a crossbow. When I go to release it to open the Jaws back up they won't release. I have to wiggle the bow and basically just squeeze it outside of the clamps. I said of that it's it's a good item.

The Manbily Shooting Rest Saddle for Hunting Shooting Stick Monopods Bipods Tripods Stand-Black (U-2) is a great modification for an existing shooting stick, monopod, bipod or tripod to improve its performance. I replaced the yoke on a Primos trigger stick with the Manbily U-2. The ability to clamp the stock into the tripod is a great improvement in getting a more steady hold for shooting. It's relatively quick to clamp in or release the stock from the saddle. It's sturdy and made of plastic so if it gets wet during hunting there are no issues. The jaws have deep serrations to provide a positive hold. I'm very pleased with the Manbily U-2 saddle and that I don't have to buy yet another costly tripod in order to get this type of saddle. I consider the Manbily U-2 replacement saddle an outstanding value!

You can buy a dedicated shooting stick, but I prefer modular accessories. I spend the money on a very stable tripod, so whether it's a camera, velocity tester, or shooting rest I can have great stability. It's especially important when you're shooting a rifle, because the impulse is going to affect it.The Manbily shooting rest saddle is as solid as they come. The frame is cast from a heavy aluminum alloy and the hardware is plated for longevity and smooth operation. A large knob makes it easy to tighten around your rifle, and the jaws have rubber padding so you don't damage your firearm.One of the best features is the adjustability. If the jaws are out of parallel there are adjustment screws to correct it. The jaws tighten firmly around your rifle and keeps it stable.

Call me impressed. I wasn’t at all sure what to expect from the Manbily gun rest, so my expectations were relatively low.My first use was to securely hold my rifle atop a sturdy tripod while I adjusted its sights using a laser boresighter, something I always struggle with. Well, mission accomplished in record time.This rest is surprisingly well-made, in my opinion, and the precision adjustments are an unexpected bonus. It solidly and securely clamped to the forend without any marring whatsoever.I’ve tried to think of some way to improve this product, but I honestly can’t. It is simply over-built. Five stars, although I’d give it six if I could. I’m looking forward to trying it with a monopod at the range.

The steel bolt that rotates to tighten the saddle is threaded into the side of the bracket that travels in and out. That side of the bracket is made of aluminum which readily strips under recoil of a .223. Unless you’re using this for a .22LR, I would go with something better made.
