A Safe Non Sticking Frying Pan
I have been looking for frying pans without PTFE coatings for quite a while. I also don't like really light weight pans, because they heat up too fast and it is easy to burn whatever you are cooking. I have always liked frying pans with heavy bottoms because they heat slowly and cool down slowly so it is easier to maintain a steady heat and not burn what I was cooking (I hate burned eggs or eggs stuck to the pan). Cast Iron would fulfill my needs, but I do not have the patience required to condition and properly care for cast Iron. The ceramic coated pans I had found in the past were all thin light weight aluminum, so I was left with my PTFE coated, heavy weight pan. Then I found the Caraway Company's web site and found the pan of my dreams. I purchased it from Caraway through their Amazon store because I would get it faster than ordering from their web site. What I love about this pan usually called Pros: It is heavy weight so I can fry the way I like to work. The ceramic coating is actually slipperier than my old pan, so nothing sticks, as long as you add some oil or butter. The handle has a small bump to keep me from getting my hand too close to the pan and burning it. I particularly love the black pan with gold handle. I could buy a heavy glass top to cover the pan as needed, with a gold handle of course. Cons: The glass lid is extra It isn't cheap, but nothing worthwhile is. Like cast Iron this pan requires some TLC. When you wash it, it needs to be warm soapy water, and no scouring pads, so hand washing and not the dishwasher. Scouring pads and dish washing soaps can damage the coating. Add some oil or butter to improve the slipperiness. The really important one is do not heat the pan too high, I believe the max temp is 500 deg F, which shouldn't be a problem for most, if not all cooking. Also do not leave the pan unsupervised on the burner when the burner is on.

Good pan, but Why a Review for Warranty?
Product seems good: solid weight, non-stick is effective. Don't like how the company makes you submit a review for the product before you can activate your warranty, but the product itself seems decent so far. Editing, 4 stars to 3: knurl on the handle to show where itโs supposed to not be hot is ineffective; heat extends a good inch past it. Burn your finger if you trust it to tell you what part you can grab. Editing, a/o July '26: increasing review to 4 stars. Customer service from Caraway is excellent. This is indeed a specialty item, certainly not a utilitarian "one-pan-for-all-occasions," but for what it's designed for, low-to-medium heat for short cook periods, it works. And the team is more than happy to give info on how to care for your pan long term.

Attractive, EXPENSIVE, and requires kid-glove handling and care -- not my go-to cookware!
Nice, but this won't be my go-to cookware. I got two pans and 2 glass lids to try. Yes, it's easy to use for eggs and they are super slippery. I made small pancakes and even had a bit of a struggle turning them over, they just wanted to race around the pan, My first disappointment was that I couldn't order black with a silver handle, all I could get was black with a gold handle. My kitchen is all stainless witha black sink and black cooktop so I'd rather have silver handles. I also have a porcelain/ceramic grates on a gas cooktop. They scratch the bottom of the pan if you move it at all, such as turning it a bit with the handle. These pans would probably be better on induction only. The handle on the pan gets really HOT quickly, as does the handle on the glass lid. I hate to always have a mitt handy just to lift the lid and turn or stir something. Read the care instructions... They may be non-stick, but they definitely need handling with kid gloves for everything you do including warm-up, cool down, washing, etc. I'll do that, but if everyone in your household won't follow these extensive care instructions then you'd better hide this thing! The glass lid looks nice, but not terribly functional. It is 100% flat with no rim around the edge. When you take it off the pan and set it aside it sticks to a granite counter top due to moisture that collected ont he underside of the lid. A slight domed shape with a stainless rim would work much better. The bottom line for me is these are too expensive, I can't get the colors I want without gold handles, and the pretty glass lids have hot handles and their shape is non-functional. I'll use them for certain things, but they aren't the best for a gas cooktop due to the grates and they will be a hassle to store, clean and care for--more so than other non-stick pans. I primarily tried these for the no PFOE, but I'll be considering other things.

Worth every penny
Well made; it looks and feels high quality. I just received it so only have used the pan a few times but it hasn't disappointed; good heat distribution, well designed and manufactured product. The depth is perfect too. Impressed enough to have ordered the 6 quart pan w/lid.
