I thought I'd take the time to write a genuine review of these as I was so impressed with them. Long story short, they are great! I bought 3 of them, two for the garage to replace old flourescents and one for the loft. The build quality is excellent, they work, are bright enough to be comparable to the old ones removed and (in the garage) I went from 3 fittings using 510W (85W tubes x 6) to just 2 using 48W for comparable brightness. In hindsight, I would fit like for like, ie, to replace a 2-tube 170W fitting get 1 of these, so I might add a 3rd one in there. As for the loft, it was a 2 tube 4 foot and the single Ledus easily matched that for brightness. The tubes are warm white that I bought, 3000K. Easy to wire up (live/neutral), easy to fit to the ceiling and did I say well made...can't fault them.

Firstly, as others have said, the instructions are poor, and the unit does take a bit of assembling, but it was fairly intuitive. One cautionary note that may help others as stupid as me, is that the led tubes are not the same as the old fluorescent tubes which could go in either way, if you look at the tubes, they show a live end which must go at the end of the electricity feed. I had one the wrong way round and it kept tripping the circuit breaker. Service from the seller was good when I was trying to sort it, but when put in correctly everything was fine, nice bright light for my loft. Pity about the instructions, but the unit was well made, and very happy with the final result.

Ok first off it's worth saying that I made a mistake by purchasing this unit. To be clear - MY MISTAKE! I will elaborate on that shortly. The unit itself is exactly as described and was simplicity itself to install. You get everything you need to do this except the actual screws to attach it to the ceiling. The light it gives off is a very clean white light with no flicker at all. I've had some LED bulbs from Amazon that flicker terribly and couldn't use them. This, thankfully isn't one of them. So from a product, I can only fairly give it 5 stars. Now my own mistake was not realising it's a very industrial, ruggedized design. I should have realised simply from the IP rating alone, not to mention the pictures! Ultimately it will find a home in my garage but since it was for the kitchen, it wasn't really suitable. Your eye was drawn straight to it. However, for a more "industrial" setting - workshop, garage, or even an office, it'd be perfect. Hence the 5 stars.

Instructions on insertion of the LED batons were missing and the writing on the baton ends is not very clear. It is very important that you put the correct end in the live end of the back fitting but this is not made clear enough. Three times I 'blew' the trips before I found the cause, bear in mind you are working in poor light the baton ends need a more defined instruction. That aside the light is great, easy to install, robust and neat giving a good even natural light.

I needed to replace the tubes on my ageing florescent twin 5ft light fitting. Hunting around for tubes they came to £5 less than this, so I thought I need to enter the 21st century, plus near all my other lights are led. This saves me cash and time (as I won't have to replace the tubes for a Long time) , was very easy to fit and dose the job as I like the industrial look and it fits in with my kitchens decor. It's brighter than the old fitting too!

Wanted a replacement for my 30 year lamp that had given up the ghost in my garage. Prices can be a lot especially the tubes. Anyway came across this on Amazon. Just what I was looking for a 4 foot Twin Tube IP65 with cover supplied with the tubes and a decent warranty on both the casing and the tubes. I wasn't bothered about if they were LED or not but these are which is a bonus I suppose. Overall the fitting was a little fiddly but not too bad, but the instructions were not that good. The brackets have to be fitted first and the casing then snapped on. They are quite lightweight but then the whole lamp doesn't weigh very much so they should do the job. BUT what does concern me is the recess they snap into is quite shallow and should be much deeper to make it more secure. It doesn't take much to pull the casing out of the brackets and I wouldn't be confident in it without a modification. I suggest anyone fitting this lamp makes a modification to make sure the casing doesn't get dislodged if the lamp happens to be knocked. If it did theirs nothing but the cable stopping it crashing to the floor and I doubt the warranty would cover this sort of damage, though it should because the brackets attachment to the casing is a serious design flaw in my opinion. I know it shouldn't get knocked but it can happen if fitted in a garage or workshop. It has a cover to protect the tubes from damage so that's good. The light is pretty good and seems every bit as good as the 6 foot twin old style tubes it replaced. It remains to be seen how well the tubes and the casing last and if they outlive the warranty. I don't expect it to last as long as the other but the other cost more than this all those years ago.

This light fitting blew the lighting circuit in my home. I engaged an electrician to sort the problem. He confirmed that I had correctly wired the unit, but that the unit was defective. Extra cost!! The documentation for the unit was pathetic. The unit itself requires self-assembly. No guide is provide to fix the supporting clips, so you have to measure and hope. Only cable access is at the ends of the unit. If your cable falls along the length of the unit then you have to create a hole in the base. Flimsy materials. Would not recommend this product at all. I bought an alternative led light fitting from a local supplier. It cost 20% more. But... Metal frame, with complete documentation, multiple cable access points, fully assembled...! Worked first time. Do not waste your money on this product!
