Very convenient to you, looks sleek and modern, lots of space. Had an issue with mine when it broke down but got fantastic customer service from Morphy Richards and got a later model as replacement.

Easy to use bin, love it

The media could not be loaded.  Disappointing experience. This sensor bin was delivered on time and well packaged, so no issues there. The sensor based lid worked fine for about two weeks and then failed. On triggering the sensor the lid now lifts a couple of inches and then drops back down instantly. The sensor is clean and we have fresh batteries. Clearly a manufacturing and QC issue here. These are expensive bins and the lid operation should not fail this easily. I have contacted Morphy Richards support but yet to receive a response. We are back to operating the lid by hand which defeats the entire purpose of maintaining hygiene.The concept of these sensor bins are sound but the internal mechanisms are cheaply made of mostly plastic parts. All the gearing is plastic and using 4 AA batteries is also not an efficient solution as the motor that operates the lid is power hungry. These bins should have sealed and rechargeable batteries with better power output. Just my personal opinion as an engineer but I will be returning back to a mechanical bin after this very poor experience.

I didn't want to like this, I wasn't a believer in these sensor bins, but it was really cheap for what I needed and I'm pleasantly surprised. It actually pretty good! The sensor is plenty sensitive enough and dare I say it's quicker than actually opening a press bin lid? I know it sounds crazy. The mechanism doesn't feel like it could take much punishment, but it's survived my parents trying to close it manually and it gets plenty of use so time may tell. I think I may have read in the instructions not to use it with batteries constantly as to not wear out the mechanism... really Morphy Richards?? I'm not going to say I like it's not the ideal size for a typical UK binbag (it's on the small side) and some concern over the mechanism but no real complaints other than that. basically if you can get it cheap its worth the purchase.

The packaging and polystyrene were essential as what the box contained by way of a kitchen bin was unimpressively feeble. A light metal shell and a lid that felt like in about a couple of months the electric opening would fail. Now, to open the lid with a crummy little motor and 4 x AA batteries (not included) it would need to be very light. And it is. I am being generous when I give this 2 stars. My advice: don't buy this, buy a good old fashioned hand operated bin and save money.

The first one of these I had stopped working after 10 months - Amazon replaced it which was good, the second one seems to be working fine for now!
