i love this film and saw it at the cinema when it came out. it makes me want to go to Istanbul to visit the cats. this is also my first digital film i have brought on amazon and watched it no problem on my laptop

Lovely film.

Being dyslexic, I dislike subtitles, but on this occasion it was worth trudging through them, as this documentary opened up not just the lives of cats, whom I love so much, but also of the human beings caring for them, and the result is really a moving account of a mega-city in transition, with the last vestiges of nature built over, and old run down markets being threatened by a road building program. It reminds us that our lives are being mechanised over, but these relationships between humans and cats represent a rare enclave of unmediated love and humanity.

This is a magical and engrossing film for any cat lover, brimming with the joy that cats bring to our lives, but this time in the context of street cats in Istanbul who come and go as they wish amongst the people who care for them. It is full of love, humour and wisdom. But beware! I ordered the DVD from Amazon.com in America as a hard copy could not be acquired from Amazon.co.uk ( i did not wish to download) after being assured by the filmmaker Oscilloscope that all the DVDs were region free. They are not! Upon inserting the DVD into my player I was immediately informed " Playback Prohibited by Region Code". Fortunately it did work in my laptop, but I feel I was misled, as the Amazon.com website also confirmed " This Item Ships to UK". If it ships to the UK it should work in the UK!

The DVD itself come in a hardback book with Polish sleeve notes. The DVD has the option of watching it in Turkish with English subtitles (preferable) or Polish dub with subtitles. The menu is in Polish but it's not hard to figure out all in all no complaints.

I think if you’re not fussed about cats then this film is not for you. A great mix of cats roam Istanbul without permanent homes and some of the locals take care of them, feed them and take them to vets if needed. The local characters are often as interesting as the cats, but the cats are the star of the show. They arrived in Istanbul originally onboard ships from all over the world, and made there way ashore, hence the variety of cats. Beautifully filmed and with English subtitles this a cat lovers must watch.

Incredibly beautiful cinematography throughout this heartwarming, thoughtprovoking movie. Rented it but had to come back to buy it as the people in the movie (and the cats) impacted me so much. Just beautiful.

Ein sehr schöner Film über die Straßenkatzen in Istanbul und wie die Menschen mit ihnen umgehen. Viele Kameraeinstellungen wurde auf Katzenaugenhöhe gedreht, so dass man Istanbul aus Sicht der Katzen sieht.

I love this film! It is a touching documentary of the lives of some of Istanbul's amazing street cats and their relationship with the loving people who appreciate and help them. These individuals deliver insightful, heartfelt commentary on the cats and their relationship with them throughout the film. A great film for all cat lovers and those who would like to understand felines better - their courage, skill, intelligence, appreciation, and affection . . . . The cinematography is wonderful, and the music as well. This film is an exquisite tribute to all street cats and those who care for them. The English subtitles were no problem. I will watch this film again and again.

Me encanto este documental, muestra un lado diferente de Los Gatos y la cultura que los rodea en Turquía. llego justo a tiempo y en perfecto estado

Ce film est merveilleux pour les amoureux des chats mais aussi pour ceux qui sont particulièrement attachés à une vie empreinte de plus d'humanité que ce que nous avons tendance à vivre le plus souvent hélas aujourd'hui (vie moderne plus froide qui ne présente pas que des avantages).Cette vie chaleureuse conservée dans ces anciens quartiers d'Istambul qui restent authentiques encore aujourd'hui fort heureusement et dont l'ambiance est très bien rendue dans le film, m'a fait vraiment chaud au coeur. Il n'est pas surprenant que cet environnement de vie convienne parfaitement aux nombreux chats présents dans cette merveilleuse capitale d'ailleurs depuis toujours.Dans cette ville peuplée d'habitants aimant majoritairement les chats, ces derniers se sentent à l'aise et dévoilent chacun leur personnalité devant une caméra sachant habilement et subtilement capter leur attitudes et comportements. C'est un régal.Je recommande vivement pour tous ce film particulièrement intéressant ,chaleureux, original et très bien réalisé.
