10 inches. Didn't bother to look where it was made. My chiropractor had used one on me with much success so that's why I invested that kind of money. Be aware that it is very heavy and you have to have some one do it if its for your back. It has been a life saver for me

Q: Is this a percussion massager? Please don't answer if you don't know

No it is not. This massager uses continuous vibration pulses that relax the muscles to relieve stress & tension (equivalent to a mild-medium massage). My understanding of a percussion massager is it applies concentrated pulses deep into the tissue to get knots out (if you can find a good one) which would be equivalent to a deep tissue massage. I hope this helps explain it.
