Well crap, I lost my Meelectronic MP6s - (I miss you guys!), and I needed to replace them, as I mostly use these small, noise-isolating type earbuds when traveling/flying. I don't want to deal with the bulk or charging of an over-the-ear noise canceling headset and I've found that a halfway decent wired earbud with comply or other foam tips does 90% of the job anyway.Enter the KZ ZSR. I stumbled on this brand while looking to replace the MP6 with an identical replacement and went poking around comparing the numerous different models KZ seems to offer, from lower end simple single driver configurations to a crazy 6 driver per ear setup. Knowing a thing or two about audio, more doesn't necessarily equal better. I liked the configuration of the ZSR with a 10mm direct driver for bass and two balanced armatures for mids/treble. This is a really common config on high end IEMs so I figured I'd give it a try.Packaging was simple, with just a clear plastic cover inside a white cardboard box. The ZSRs came with the medium silicone tips already attached and small and large in package. I was disappointed to find they don't ship any sort of case. (If you're reading this, a simple drawstring pouch would be awesome!). There's also a small instruction sheet with barely intelligible English nonsense. KZ - I will gladly rewrite all of your website descriptions, Amazon descriptions and packaging if you keep me waist deep in free headphones. Seriously. Hit me up.You probably want to know how they sound, huh? Hold on, let me tell you about how they look and feel. They've got a nice looking, but not tangle-proof detachable cable. I think it's supposed to look like one of those clear cables, but it is not. Certainly adequate. It's got a 90 degree 3.5mm plug. The buds themselves look big, but not once they're inserted as they fit within the interior of your outer ear. They use memory wire in the over-the-ear configuration that I'd gotten very used to with the meelectronics buds and I like that a lot. Keeps them very secure and I find it comfortable for working out, etc. I completely agree with the other reviewer here that the left/right script on each bud is ridiculously tacky. It's made somehow worse that when they're in your ear, it's upside down.... though, that could be good as people looking at your earbuds might just think it's some kind of decoration. Anyway, I'll try to remove it with alcohol or thinner. Then they'll just be attractive piano black earbuds! I find them comfortable for the few hours I've worn them and the included silicone tips do a great job isolating outside noise. I've got some foam tips on order as well which will probably serve to enhance comfort and noise reduction. I find they usually enhance low-end as well.Ok finally!! Sound! This is the most important part, obviously, and in short, I'm impressed. I've got more phones than I care to admit, and I couple most of them with a dragonfly DAC to bring out the most in them when I'm on the go. These little buds rival even my expensive AKG studio phones. They've got a very punchy low-end that doesn't get distorted even above comfortable volumes (these can get loud). For a 10mm driver, it's really surprising. Outside of bass, clarity and separation is really quite good. Listening to tracks like Baba O'Riley, Brass Monkey, and a really difficult track to do justice to, The Hills by The Weeknd, is a good indicator that whatever crossover circuitry they're using in here is serving to keep the mids from getting muddy with all that bass. I'm sure the sound will improve a bit further as well after some more hours of listening, but they're already my daily driver at this point I like the sound so much.Overall, really happy with these headphones, and for the price, they're just really, really good.

Unbeatable at $30, Competitive above $100

KZ ZSR In-Ear Headphones Earphone Hifi Stereo Bass Earbuds In Ear Monitors with 2 Pins Detachable Cable Noise Isolating Headset with Hybrid Driver (Green with Microphone) Overview:Like many of the other Knowledge Zenith earphones, the KZ ZSR’s are a complete bargain. Combining advanced features such as a universal-esque shell for superior comfort, detachable two pin cables (making it easier to replace a cable if it becomes damaged), and an earphone with 3 driver hybrid technology, the KZ ZSR’s are unmatched in their price bracket, and frankly anything below several hundred dollars from mainstream companies (except perhaps it’s elder brothers, the KZ ZS5/6). If you’re looking for an iem that does it all in the $30 price bracket, this is your short ticket to high end audio.Triple Driver Hybrid:The triple driver hybrid technology mentioned consists of two small balanced armatures and one dynamic driver that work together in harmony to produce sound. Typically, balanced armature drivers are better at detail retrieval, and speed while dynamic drivers usually produce a more realistic timbre and a better bass response. By incorporating two balanced armatures and one dynamic driver, KZ manages to bring the best of both worlds. The amount of drivers and the hybrid nature of the earphones are usually only seen in higher end IEM’s costing $100 and over.Fit/Isolation/Build:The isolation on the ZSR’s is above average, but not spectacular. Because of its shape, it covers your ear holes and blocks more noise than a traditional earphone, but it doesn’t plug your ears and eliminate all sound. That being said, for my ears, they fit extremely well and were very comfortable for long listening sessions. The over ear design eliminates micro phonics and the shell of the earphones fit my ears like a glove. Isolation also was quite dependant on tips selection, which KZ supplies with 3 different sizes of their star tips which I found to be pretty good. The build quality is quite nice with elegant cursive and see-through green shell and nice supple cable.Sound:The KZ ZSR’s are a great addition to the KZ line of in-ear headphones. Though the ZSR’s lack an extra dynamic driver that the KZ ZS6’s possess, the ZSR’s share a similar sound signature with its older brother. Detailed, airy, and with plenty of bass punch. There’s not much to complain about on my end. The high’s are nice and detailed, while the midrange has great presence and the bass has lots of texture and heft. Compared to the ZS6’s, the high’s are less harsh and bright, while the bass seems to be more prominent. Overall, the ZSR’s are a nice alternative if you like a darker sounding earphone without the sacrifice of detail. Conclusion:The KZ ZSR’s are a welcome addition to the KZ line, and an unbeatable earphone at the $30 price range. It has a very lovable sound signature which most people will find agreeable, and combines the high end sound that audiophiles are accustomed to, making this a must buy for any person. These earphones are good in all situations due to its flexible sound signature, fit options, and isolation characteristics. If you’re looking for something that you can use in the gym, on the bus, or in the classroom, these can be your end all be all for earphones. If you have enough money to spend on a pair of Beat’s headphones/earphones, do yourself and pick up a pair of the ZSR’s to really get a taste of high end audio quality.

Good value
These in-ear headphones are well-made and sound good. There are many reviews saying they are fantastic, but to me that is a stretch. As far as sound quality, I would rate them a 7 or 7.5 out of 10.

Very good sound.
I like hearing the full range of sounds, treble, mids, bass. And good clarity. They as good as the competition which cost 3 or 4 times more.

Wow good!!!
That sound for that money? Just unbelievable!Unfortunately it does not connect nicely to most of the BT adapters. After some more "testing" I am changing my comment about the cables - the cables are very easily make nodes and are difficult to straight up:(

Amazing soundstage
I recently lost a great pair of good value Anker ear phones, plus case with accessories :-( , so needed replacements, so thought I would give "monitors" a try. The reviews for these KZ CSRs sounded promising, and worth a punt at £23.First impressions were of good quality materials and solid construction (while ignoring the unnecessarily florid Left & Right script!), though I had misgivings when I ordered about the "over ear, round the back, get it caught on glasses" cabling...The model I got (KZ CSR black w/mic) had no case, but comes with extra earpieces and the detachable metallic brown twist cabling. There are a few cms of curved clear sheathing on the section upto the earphones. There is obviously an art to getting these on in a smooth, slick manner, which I am sure will come with practice ;-)But what you really need to hear about is the sound quality (and bear in mind the price). I listen to a lot of spoken word (podcasts, plays, etc), and often bass-heavy EDM, and blues & jazz featuring brass and strings, etc. I heard formally hidden elements in familiar tracks AND realistic positioning of them, which was, and forgive the hyperbole, quite astonishing. This was especially evident with well-engineered soundscapes in plays, that had me turning around to see if the background noises in them were actually behind me!With music, again, you could place instruments around you, and revel in the rich, clear bass and vibrant trebles.Nothing worse than hearing muddy confused bass, IMHO.So, for me I think they are a keenly priced, better replacement for my previous earphones.
