😍😍
a few years back i tried some mochi and i became obsessed. after realizing i couldn't buy it in any stores near me i got super upset. fast forward to about a month ago, i was telling my friend this story and he mentioned that you could just buy it online and i felt really stupid. he sent me the link to this one and i bought one package on the spot. and HOH MY GOD. if you've tried this stuff before, then you know. If you haven't, it is a delicious treat that's squishy, soft and filled with a jelly that is not-too-sweet. it's great for children who are teething or anyone with sore teeth. since then, amazon gifted me with one of those auto-pay buttons on my homepage that i can just click, and it will charge my account to and send to me automatically. it's both a blessing and a curse. i was skeptical about buying food products online, but it came in perfect condition with no tears or exposures along the plastic. the mochi wasn't molded or bad at all!

Best store-bought mochi brand I've tried
I was introduced to mochi this year by a Japanese friend and for whatever reason I just loved it. There's a store around here that sells the Yuki + Love brand, and they had strawberry but it's been out of stock. I like green tea too even though it has essentially no taste. For me it's mostly about the texture so know that -- if you don't like the texture you won't like any of these. I happen to love it, and I especially love it FROZEN. These arrived today and they are definitely better than the other brand I was buying. They are decent size, almost ping pong ball, so I guess at just over a dollar each that's decent... They are very filling (I mean, they're rice starch and sugar and chemicals, God knows) but what I like is that the filling isn't overwhelming like a lot of other brands. The jam (?) that's inside is good, and it's not overpowering, it's just enough to enhance the strawberry-ness of it all. Someone referred to there being marshmallow in these and I guess that's what it is, but it is such a thin layer I think it's there just to add chewiness. This is so far the best brand I have purchased and I will get them again. I got them in melon too but haven't tried yet.

Try once, see what you think of it
I've been looking into trying foreign candies/snacks around amazon, and this one stood out to me. The rice cakes themselves have a marshmallow-like texture. Overall this was an okay snack, but my biggest qualm was that the strawberry flavor was not as prominent as i anticipated. Even when you get to the jelly-center, the flavor is still somewhat faint. Still, I enjoyed a rice cake as a brief snack during the afternoon, and would recommend you try it at least once before deciding if you want to buy more in the future.

they are like Kasugai Strawberry Gummy Candy with a strange yeast taste
I got these one day early. I was really excited because i had no idea what i was getting myself into. I'm interested in japanese food, so each paycheck i get some something ive never tried before. Let me start off by saying that i got these on a cold day, so when i opened them up, the rice cakes were chilled. They are pretty good in size, and you get 8 in a pack. the length of them is about 2 inches by 2 inches. The feeling of them on the outside is very very smooth. As for the smell; they did not smell like strawberry. Which isnt bad, but as others were saying, i thought they were going to have a very pleasent and profound strawberry smell to them. They smell though, like a faint yeast smell. It kinda smells like you've opened a little package of yeast to make homemade bread. Very very faint smell though. Nothing strong. The inside is a layer of thick gooey mallow and a layer which is dark pink, and very thick which tastes like strawberry. Not the strawberry you're used to though. I think they taste EXACTLY like Kasugai Strawberry Gummy Candy. They sparkle on the outside a bit like them and the inside part has the same exact strange gummy consistancy as those gummy's aswell. and the taste...gosh..It's almost like they took those gummies, mashed them up and put them as the inside of the rice cake. What i overall think of them; The outside is what really bugs me. it has a really strange yeast-y taste to it and it lingers in your mouth. kinda a sour yeast taste. If you've ever accidently ate uncooked bread then you know what i mean, and the inside literatly just tastes like a different famous candy as i described earlier. I really really really REALLY wanted to like these. I love japanese culture and food, but..yuck! Glad to have an interesting experience but i wont buy them again. HOWEVER, if you've tried them and really like them, i would reccomend this seller because my package arrived a day early and i was very surprised. Very fast shipping and it said it was shipped only a few short hours or so after i bought them. A+ for that!!!
