Well researched book making a complex subject an easy read
I like this book because it helps the reader understand not only why they seek pleasurable outcomes, but it also clearly explains the pros and cons of the process. This is a book that delivers it's message without drowning you in a myriad of complex facts, statistics, and jargon.

Sadly didn't find this very interesting. It wasn't until chapter 4 that the book actually starts talking about what I read it for - how dopamine affects lifestyle. Instead the book reads much like a textbook and all I got from it was, "okay, dopamine has many functions along the lines of regulating everything in the body". The first few pages were brilliant and captivating but just became tedious after a while.

The information in this book was very helpful because it included how dopamine effects your mental health. What I enjoyed most about the book is the exercises for positive stimulation.I love the way the author delves into the connection between your diet and brain health. Also, how to make informed choices to support cognitive function and emotional balance.

I am new to these subjects and enjoyed reading this book. “The Dopamine Connection” helped me better understand the roles of dopamine on both physical and mental health, and offered practical tips and strategies on dopamine detox, exercises, body-mind activities such as meditation and yoga, healthy and balanced diet, and restful sleep. Overall a very educational and insightful read.

I really enjoyed this book, perfect for being new to the subject. Modern life and especially screens have really increased the amount of instant dopamine. It can be addicting, we need to detox from dopamine, but technology keeps us engaged. Very interesting!
