Simple but effective.
This is a super simple pedal that allows you to hold a tone indefinitely. I use to to create ambient sound while I play solo. Very simple and works great for that!

Not a "freeze" sample-hold... a different experience!
Bottom line up front: Sounds awesome on guitar or bass CHORDS, but not on single low bass notes. Optional always-on HOF reverb is first rate, and earned its permanent place on my pedal board! Pro: - Sustain plays back short sample simultaneously in both forward and reverse, so is very even & predictable. Make sure you only push the pedal after a note or chord stabilizes. This takes a little practice. - Soloing over a sustained chord is a lot of fun, and good practice. - Extensive TonePrint controls through phone app for swell, decay, layers, reverb, and modulation of sustained tone. All of them useful... look up tutorials about this on YouTube! - World-class TC Electronic modulation (chorus, phase, flanger) on sustained tone, from subtle to wild. Very effective on guitar, not so much on bass. - World-class Hall Of Fame reverb available for both direct and sustained tone... makes this pedal a bargain! - Layered sustain (1,2,3, infinite) is way cool for ambient & solos, but may not be useful in most settings. Con: - Sustained tone modulates a little, even with no modulation applied (probably due to that forward+reverse thing happening). Not a problem if you plan on using modulation for the sustained tone anyway. - BASS PLAYERS be advised... a single sustained low bass note will have some unavoidable phasey rumble. Not unpleasant, but definitely not like an organ pedal point (ala e-Bow or EHX Freeze pedal ). This shortfall is what cost the 5th star in this review.

The best sampler
I didn't give this five stars only because the samples all get some tc electronics treatment. It's ambient goodness, but I want plain samples too.
