Providing you have the door clearance gap required (which is usually the case) this is an easy to fit item that secures your door very effectively from the inside. It’s not immediately apparent how you fit it but ince you’ve successfully done it the first time it becomes intuitive thereafter (use the product description guide above as there are no supplied instructions). The device feels robust and made of tough metal. It’s not going to withstand someone seriously attempting to break in but would easily withstand most non tooled-up intruder (or in our usual scenario - housekeeping wanting to access the room when you want a lie in when you’re at a hotel). Very good idea at a bargain price.

Not very easy to use but very useful My concern is if any thing happened to you while in the room they would have to break the door down to get in rather than use a pass key Suppose it would be ok for couple in room but not very easy to set up

I’m really unsure how I feel about this lock. The fact that it stops the regular door lock from locking to be able to use this makes me nervous. Surely making one of these to work alongside the door lock would be better. As with this you are swapping one lock for another. Another issue i have found is that it is quite fiddly. So if something happened during the stay and you needed to make a quick exit from the room, this would interfere with this and in an emergency I’m not convinced that’s a good idea. I love the concept of having an additional lock for a hotel door… not additional not In replacement. I feel in this situation an alarmed door wedge and the original door lock would be safer.

Portable Door Lock for Travelling - I have tried and is not long enough for my bedroom door. I will try in a hotel. It is easy to use, just unscrew and position the hook on the outside and the rotating bit on the inside. Secure by rotating the screw.
