Good Decision - Happy with Modem
It's been almost 9 days since I replace my clunky, big, hot Spectrum Internet modem with this Arris modem. My Internet connection has not dropped once since I connected it up. With the Spectrum modem it was dropping almost every day (which if you work from home is a real pain). Setup was super easy. Moved the 2 cables from my Spectrum modem to the Arris, called the cable company and asked them to activate the modem. Took less than 10 minutes for the whole thing. NOTE: 1. Change the password on the modem as soon as you set it up. Very important! 2. If you have another device at home that provides wireless connectivity, like I do, disable the wireless connectivity on the modem - you don't need it - and it protects you from drive by wireless hackers (they are out there). You will see the 2 wireless lights on the front of the modem go out. So far, very happy with this purchase. I will return my Spectrum modem, and most likely my Spectrum cable box too. Spectrum is constantly raising prices - it never ends - and I rarely watch cable TV anymore - it's all crap. I have transitioned to steaming TV, and no longer need the cable company for TV.

Solved all issues with Spectrum
Ever since Spectrum renewed their equipment (not a combo unit, separate modem + router Spectrum brand) i started having intermitting signal and frequent droppage. i've called Spectrum dozen times, and technician came out to our home twice, first to install a "signal enhancer" and then to replace entire run of cable coming to the house. Turns out none of that helped. After reading Reddit post about this issue with Spectrum i found some people suggested this unit. Sure enough!!! immediately after connecting this unit (which was very easy, plug and called Spectrum, and play) signal became VERY stable and ever since there's no signal droppage happened so far for 2 days. Very happy with this purchase and people who recommended this unit.

Great buy!
I had an old router and an older cable modem from over 5 years ago. I was forced to not go with cable for internet until I fought to make it happen. I hooked up the old modem and I only got 38mbps, then the next day 100. I wanted this device to get rid of the old product and save a few dollars on electricity by eliminating two power sources. I had this for about two months and there was no restarts, dropouts or disconnects. Some have complained about it, but I had no issues. I am on the 300mbps plan, but my line when as high as 465! After a while, it came back down to earth at about 360, which is still great. The other service I had would only give me 50mbps. Now - downloading games takes no time. After the company remotely reset my modem, it made it snappier to match the bandwidth! The looks are nice and it can handle 1Gbps if I needed to go there. The only downside to me are that the lights are so bright on it that I have to cover it at night! I wish there was some way to turn them down. Other than that, this is a great buy! I never rent from the cable company as you are throwing away money and you can keep your modem for years before it is time to upgrade. I could have gotten a DOCSIS 3.1, but since this supports 1GBps, I decided to pass and to save money. I needed the speed and the almost latest tech and the wi-fi. While researching, I realized that wi-fi speeds are NOT the download speeds! My old router advertised 467mbps, but connected devices only went up to 300. My cell phone connection to this is 866mbps. I can't complain.

Worth the buy!
Just received this item today! I purchased this item and the Meshforce. As of today, I can say it is a great purchase! I read the reviews and was hesitant but I knew I had to cut the cords to my internet provider. I got rid of my cable box and was given a great price for complete internet. I contacted the cable company to set up, increase gigs, and was hit with the "yes, that is the price with your own equipment." Mind you, I was never told that when I call to discuss options. Anywho... With constant internet loss connectivity, I was at my wits end. I increase to 200gigs and had a eero placed in the home. Once I received my box and my mesh, I call them folks and was like increase my gigs to 500 and send me some boxes for your equipment. "Oh ma'am will send you that prepaid return box for the modem/router." No sir send me two boxes for your modem and your eero! And I put them on notice as well. If this service is not on point I will go to ATT for my service and I will get a free $100 credit card as well. Play with me. Right now everything is working smoothly!!! But today is just day 1. This item connected smoothly with my internet providers system. My issue was with the app. Heads up, you cannot change the log in information for the app. I didn't have to contact customer service, so I couldn't rate it.

no problems
Easy enough to setup if you are familiar with tech...it auto connected to Xfinity and worked. I used both the web interface and app; both seem required. Be aware there are some weird things, for instance it auto-changed my password to some random one and I found it only through the app, where I reset it (again and its held). Been going strong for 4 days now, maybe took 20 minutes to setup. I never had to reset it to factory or call anybody's tech support, so that's a good thing as far as it's setup, too. It does not have a remote/WAN access entry !

Not compatible
Bought it new last year and tried to get it hooked up to spectrum and it was not compatible. Now Iโm up north and Xfinity said it can not be connected. Do not buy pass on this one.

Perfect Replacement
Perfect choice to replace my Xfinity modem router. I got tired of paying monthly rental when replacing with my own is so easy. Caught this one on an Amazon deal so I can recover the replacement's cost in 5 or 6 months.
