I normally would buy the popular brand (HC) but they have gotten so expensive so I thought I would give these a try. I am so impressed! The drill, tap, thread inserts and tools worked very well. I would say they are the same quality as the HC brand but at 1/3 the cost. I used them to repair stripped mounting holes on a cast iron brake caliper frame. I will now buy a big set of various sizes from Orion.

First time doing a thread repair, fixed a stripped intake manifold thread. This tool worked perfectly; drill bit is very sharp and the tap cut the new threads with ease. The threaded insert holds the manifold bolt very tight. Highly recommend this.

Helicoils are solid and the tools are great, however every time I open the case a few pieces fall out of their spots and get mixed up.

This is a good set for working on cars with both SAE and Metric sizes. With many parts now being aluminum or even plastic now a days. The chances of ruining the threads if not careful are higher. I ended up changing an alternator when it's aluminum threads started to wear out (would tighten to a point). Other than that, the alternator was good. I didn't have a helicoil kit at the time. So changed the alternator. Bought this kit for future needs. And being SAE and Metric, this is perfect.

It has everything; tap, drill, installation tool, tang remover - plenty of inserts. Sturdy box, too. Great value.

I replace a lot of riding mower engines , the four bolts under the frame that hold the engine down seem to come loose and beat the oil pan bolt holes .Some are just stripped and will not tighten, cross threaded, metric in a sae hole, you name it , this fixes it. Drill bit and tap comes with it . No excuse to not fix it right with this kit .

Love these, pulled the threads on my valve cover over the spark plug tube seals (motor has 210,000 miles on it, nothing was over torqued during MY ownership) and this was the perfect fix. Drill bit cuts well and is still sharp after several uses, tap works and doesn't catch or seize;The only gripes I have are the installation tools- the forked one that's meant to hold onto the coil bent on the first install and I had to unbend it to use it again, and the punch either doesn't sit right to remove the tail from the coil, or the coil itself is too damn tough. Had to reach in there with a tiny pair of hemostat pliers and snap the sucker off myself with about 2/3 of them.EDIT- their customer service is wonderful to the point where I don't so much care that the one tool didn't work quite as well as I expected. They made it right, and that's honestly all I wanted.

I am a do it myself guy, when I can be. I am definitely not doing this for a living, which would usually require me spending many times more on a specific tool tough enough for a lot of use. So, to be able to repair a stripped out or broken fastener is really handy, especially since it isn't a huge investment in a rarely used tool. The quality of the kit is more tha adequate, so it isn't a waste of money to have it. I recommend this tool and this seller.Thanks.
