Q: Do these offer any type of support for hiking trails with the occasional roots or rocks?

Hi, the Alpine has a 5.5mm FeelTrue® rubber sole and lugged tread for extra traction. It also has a removable 2mm heat-reflective insole so it provides some of the support you need.

Q: Would these be too wide for a woman with a slim foot to wear? I like them better than the womens

The Men's version will be about an 1/8 inch wider than the Women's version, so it is possible that they could be a bit difficult for you. You can also wear thick winter socks with them and it may resolve the issue as well. Remember to size down 1.5 from Women's to Men's to find the accurate length. So a Women's 10 would be a Men's 8.5

Q: Do they make a snow gater that would work for a no heel type boot? Needed for deeper snow.

Hi Jim, Thanks for reaching out. Our shoes and sandals are designed to allow the foot to move, bend and flex naturally. This means that there is no arch support, minimal if any cushioning and wider than average forefoot to allow for toe splay. They are also zero drop, with no heel. Our main concept is to allow you to move naturally, as if you were barefoot, but with protection! The Alpine - the ultimate winter boot. The Alpine is a fully waterproof winter boot with a seam-sealed inner bootie and a water-resistant membrane in the boot’s upper. The insulated polyester fleece/sherpa lining keeps toes nice and warm, and a heat-reflective insole helps maintain heat.
