It was in good condition when arriving and on time
It was in good condition when arriving and on time. I don't really like math, but needed it for class. Good as any textbook can be.

Good organization. A lot of problems
Solid calculus book. Good organization. A lot of problems. I do wish they wen;t into a little more detail, but that's what a professor is for.

Pretty Good Textbook
Not a bad calculus textbook. It's pretty straight forward on most of the topics and chapters, but for some things I needed to venture outside of the textbook to the internet to get a better understanding.

Good
I like it. Calculus is tough, this book makes it easier, but if you have a good teacher you don't need the book. That is until multivariable/vector calculus comes along, then you take whatever you can get.

Guess it's okay...
I bought this for my Accelerated Calculus I class, since even though I took AP Calculus I in high school and received a 5/5 on the exam, I was only able to get out of regular Calculus I, not Accelerated (which is what engineering majors require). Therefore, I am a terrible judge as to how well this text teaches, since I already know the material I'm learning from it! I will say, though, that there are many sections in a chapter and they are all short. I really like how it makes it easy to break up lessons. What I did NOT like was how it confused the less-intelligent students in my class when it gave us its own version of the equation for motion with constant acceleration. It defined g as positive and carried the negative into the equation. This caused many of my classmates to stumble. I got it correct since I didn't use the book for the equation! So I'm saying that there are some good and some bad, but whoever's looking at this is probably buying it for a class, so they have no choice anyway.

Worst Online Interface I have ever seen
The online component of this book (Calcportal) is the worst online interface I have ever used in my life.-Many questions are multiple part and if you get any tiny aspect of any part of the problem wrong, the entire problem resets itself and you have to start an entirely new problem from scratch.-Many questions have arbitrary and confusing guidelines for entering answers (e.g. "1/2" is marked wrong when the correct answer is ".5" or "6x" is marked wrong when the correct answer is "2(3x)" according to calcportal)-The aforementioned arbitrary rules for entering your answer vary from problem to problem- absolutely no uniformity.-The interface is not user friendly at all and it takes an incredible amount of clicks and navigation just to find the problems you have been assigned.-Many questions are unnecessarily complex (in a way you would never see on any real life exam or quiz) and time consuming.-The entire system loads very slowly and the screen lags every time you submit an answer-Certain explanations are very vague and confusing

The book itself is just fine, but CalcPortal has some serious issues
The book itself is just fine, but CalcPortal has some serious issues. It is very picky with its formatting, so while you may have the correct answer, CalcPortal will only recognize it in a certain form. And if you get just one part of a question wrong for formatting, you have to start a whole new problem. It's extremely frustrating. The system is poorly designed. You are much better off with a similar system like Webassign if you have the option.
