We bought 2 of these due to flooding in our area that destroyed the sewer lines. We used these for 2 months. They are at the same height of a standard toilet. My 89 year old mother used one and it provided to be extremely stable and she had no issues with it. The flushing mechanism works very well - we added some RV deodorizer to the water tank and had no odor. The surface is easy to clean. Dumping the unit was easy and each unit allowed for enough capacity for 3 people for 6 weeks.At the dumping station I saw people with much more expensive units and they functioned as this one did - it is a good buy.

I am just now getting around to reviewing this camp toilet after owning it a year. If you are an adult who dry camps like I do, you will appreciate this information. Most camp toilets like this model, have very small seats and sit too low to the ground. They work fine for kids but not for adults. I really did not realize that until I took it camping and then it was too late to return it. Fortunately, there is a product that you can purchase that not only raises the seat height but is the same size as a standard bathroom toilet. It also adds handles for older adults. I got the idea from a hunters magazine. I do not hunt so I did not want one with camouflage. I found this under medical supplies. It is a bedside commode but it works. It raises the seat height and is the same size as a standard home bathroom toilet. This makes it extremely more comfortable for adults to sit on. I hope this helps anyone that is thinking about purchasing one of these toilets or has purchased one. (See my photo.)

This was purchased for my upstairs bedroom. My mom moved in and we did not have a bathroom up there. It was only for those midnight trips, so she would not have to come downstairs. It was convenient but very heavy and awkward to bring down to empty. It is now in the garage and we opted for a commode with an easily-emptied bucket. I imagine this would be great for camping.

I purchased 3 of these for a family camping trip.One toilet was my own (private) one. It held 4 days worth of "stuff" and wasn't even half full. The other two toilets were shared by 6 adults and 2 children and neither were completely full after 4 days.I couldn't give it 5 stars because 1) the fresh water rinse (produced by pushing a bellows type plunger) doesn't really do much to rinse the bowl, 2) it is not exactly odor free between uses, and 3) the lid and seat are very flimsy plastic and will likely crack if not handled carefully during cleaning and drying for storage.PROS: Very easy to set up and use right out of the box. Sturdy base and comfortable size for adults and kids. Easy to empty, clean and disinfect for storage. Good height for a portable. Dirty tank holds quite a bit of "stuff".CONS: Flimsy plastic lid and seat. Drain caps on the dirty tanks of 2 of the toilets leaked a little and had to be really, really tightened (could become a problem over time?). If you are leaning over the bowl when you pull the handle to "flush" (dump) the bowl, you could get ick in the face as it tends to splash up. Slight odor between uses by Day 3- even with the treatment packet added as directed. Latches that hold the top and bottom pieces together are bulky and make maneuvering during cleaning (for storage) cumbersome- and, I believe, if careful attention isn't used, the latches could be easily damaged.Overall, I love my camping toilet and would definitely recommend this product.

Finally had a chance to use my new portable toilet and was very surprised at how well it worked in our little cabin! Going from a bucket type toilet was like night and day. Used it for three weeks and emptied it once a week, all though it would have lasted longer. Was very easy to set up and use. and was easy enough to empty without a mess. best of all it did not smell up the cabin, so I am very pleased with this product and would recommend it to others. One small downside to it is the size of the toilet seat. It is not going to be as big as your home toilet, so if you have a big hind end, the you have to adjust a little to sit on it. Fit and finish was very good and I am glad I made this purchase!!

This product works beautifully for us! It is taller than most, you can swish water into bowl before flushing and the holding tank is large, which is a plus. We camp in a little pop-up and at night this stays inside, as I get up to urinate frequently. During the day, we have it inside of a "pop up" toilet) changing tent, which I highly recommend. Add the chemical to "break down waste, use angel soft t.p., and empty each day and you're good to go! Highly recommend this!

This was a last minute buy for a camping trip and it has worked great. Perfect height, not to big for my son but comfortable for all the adults. No leaks or smells. Worth every bit amazing product!
