JUST GET THE VACUUM
Giving this 5 stars because it has SAVED MY LIFE. Not only is the vacuum and the dock as visually appealing as possible, it also seems very sturdy and the mapping is very sensitive. The auto empty feature is great as well. There is only one issue that I have found, but it is easily fixed. If the mop pad is on, and you do vacuum only, the mop pad gets really dirty and hairy. I have started taking the mop pad off unless I am planning to use the mop feature and that solves the problem. I wouldve done this from the start but I was under the impression that the mop tray would lift if you aren't mopping. Over all, the vacuum does an excellent job, it even gets under my chairs, barstools and China cabinet. The mop feature is okay, it will do a basic clean but if you want a deeper clean or if you have a big mess you'll definitely want to break out a heavier duty mop. (Which is to be expected). I also recommend to do a vacuum only, then apply your mop pad and then do a "full clean" which will vacuum leftovers and mop at the same time. The noise level is mild- moderate. It's definitely not as loud as a traditional vacuum, but if youre watching TV while it's running, you'll probably need to turn it up a bit. I was skeptical on which brand to get, but I really am happy with this purchase and I definitely feel like the machine is a great value for the money! JUST GET THE VACUUM!

It was good while it lasted....which was not long enough for the price paid!
Extremely disappointed - when it worked, it worked well however after about a year, it's lost all of it's senses....we have maintained as required however it now takes close to 2 hours to clean just 1 room when before, it cleaned the entire downstairs in under an hour. Cleaning patterns also haphazard and it constantly gets stuck in corners or the middle of a room with no obstacles. Compared to the Roomba which we had used for 10 yrs before, i would expect this device to last a lot longer considering what we paid for it. I will be moving back to reliable roombas - which now also have lidar technology. Another real bug bear was that once a second person got connected to the app, the other person would be kicked off and app usability would become impossible unless reloaded which i stopped doing after 3 times. I also did not like how it had it's own internet /network we needed to connect to. Extremely inconvenient. In short, i would not recommend even though for a few months it was doing a great job, definitely not worth the price paid for the hassle and troubleshooting we had to deal with.

Practical must-have technology if you keep a clean home!
Prior to my purchase I wasn't convinced such a small device could do a decent job cleaning floors at a price that was 2 to 5 times the cost of a regular vacuum. To my surprise, the benefits far outweigh the cost. 1) plenty of suction, 2) thorough coverage regardless of floor type, 3) outstanding lidar navigation and obstruction avoidance, 4) no more dust under furniture, 5) manual labor eliminated, 6) auto empty of dust bin, 7) superb mapping, 8) comprehensive scheduling, 9) Alexa integration a big plus, 10) long battery life (LiPo 5200mha $40 Amazon to replace). Amazon has tons of options for furniture risers. I highly recommend you get some to let the bot get under the furniture where dust really collects. I'm still working on getting my furniture lifted. Keep your upright and carpet cleaner for big messes if you have kids or pets. I have a steam mop for my hardwood floor cleaning and carpet steamer for any accidents. But that's very rare with no pets or kids. I prefer not to introduce water into my Roborock Q8 Max+ even though it will mop floors. The mix of water and dust just doesn't sound like a good idea in this device, besides a very occasional steam mop of my hardwood floors and tile is no big deal. What's huge that the Roborock provides is getting all that darn dust up off the floor and out from under furniture. It's amazing how much dust can accumulate despite a newer house with good air filtration here in the northwest. I'm pushing 70 and I like a clean house, trust me, this is the ticket.

Highly recommend!!! Had over a year!
I purchased a year ago and absolutely love this vacuum and mop! I bought the extra mop pads and put enzymes in the mop tank and it stays clean. No issue with mold. The vacuum works so well. For a deeper clean, I do the vacuum once without the mop pad attached. Then a second time with the mop pad attached. Excellent suction. Super easy to use the app. You have to set it up to detect floor height differences the first time you map an area or it won't go over it. Only complaint, if there's a quarter size dust bunny, it'll go around. But it's not hard to pick that up so still giving 5 stars. Highly recommend! Excellent value for the money!

Self empty is not great with cat litter and cat hair. We have had this for about 2 months and I’ve probably ran it 10 times. We have two cats and a dog. It picks up hair and litter okay. A small amount of litter is left under the robot in the dock in the self emptying area. I noticed today that the area it had vacuumed still seemed filthy, so I decided to check the unit out. The bin was packed full with hair and a small amount of litter. Like nearly 2 cups full. I checked the bag in the top of the unit and it does feel like it has some in there but there was probably more in the vacuum than the bag. The map function is much improved and it doesn’t seem to get stuck as badly as my older unit. Don’t regret the purchase but I wish I would have known of this issue before purchase.

Wish I purchased this sooner!
I love this vacuum/mop and only wish that I had purchased it sooner. During prime days I purchased another robot vacuum to see if I liked a robot vacuum. I used that one for a couple weeks but realized that I wanted a vacuum with more features - mapping and automatic dirt storage/capture. So, I returned that one and spent the money to purchase one with the features that I wanted. I found it super easy to set up and get the mapping all set. Also, it is easy to create different rooms in the house, different programs (to mop or not), etc. As long as I wet the mop pad prior to mopping, it does a great job on my hardwood floors. So far, I have always set the water level to the lowest level for mopping. Also, when I am just vacuuming, it does a great job of going up/down on the various carpets I have in my house. I have a dog that sheds a lot and this vacuum keeps the floors and carpets clean. The one thing that was recommended was to vacuum carpets prior to using it for the first time. I did that and have not had any problems. I have not yet programmed it for use when I am out.

Worst customer service and don’t stand behind their product
I am extremely disappointed with my Roborock Q8. After only two years, it stopped vacuuming properly, and the water dispenser also stopped working. I followed every troubleshooting step recommended by Roborock and purchased replacement parts to rule out normal wear. I have receipts proving I replaced the recommended accessories, yet the same problems continued. Customer support repeatedly asked for videos and photos, which I provided. After all of that, their only solution was to tell me the vacuum was out of its one-year warranty and offer me a $20 discount on another unit. A robot vacuum that cost around $400 should last far longer than two years. While I understand the warranty is only one year, a premium company should stand behind its products when they fail this quickly. Offering just a $20 discount instead of a meaningful solution is disappointing and shows very poor customer service. I expected much better quality, durability, and support from Roborock. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I cannot recommend this product or the company behind it.

Solid choice
I bought no less than 6 robot vacuums to test this out. This is the one I ultimately decided to keep. I tested vacuums across all the price ranges and with all types of functions. I watched all of the vacuum wars videos and read the reviews intently. In the end, the Roborock S7 was the vacuum I selected. The annoying thing about the Roborock lineup is how sneaky the naming of their vacuums are. There is S7Max S7+, Max+ etc. Q7, Q8 with max and plus and variations that make it difficult to really view their vacuum offerings side by side to decide which one is right for you. But this Roborock Q8 was a very good vacuum. Pros: -Can use with just water (no requirement to pay for overpriced cleaning chemicals) -Mop feature is great and lift features works on all of my carpets -Navigation and mapping is the best I've tested -Varying suction powers and mopping intensities have allowed me to get the results I want -Roborock's app is the best I've used. I loved being able to put down where my furniture is and area rugs -Auto-emptying feature is something that can be turned off -Reliable and consistent, very rarely gets jammed or stuck -Easy to clean and maintain Cons: -Does not recognize my puzzle piece foam floor mats as mats. It treats them like carpet. Which is annoying because I would really like for them to get mopped daily -Despite having strong suction, it is not great on low pile rug with dog hair, I still have to go over our car track-themed low pile rug with a comb to pull the dog hair out of it 2x a week. The roborock seems to rub it further into the rug rather than suck it out. -I have it set not to bump into things but it doesn't get corners and certain areas as well as I'd like, I could probably reduce it's collision settings to get a better job but I find that vacuuming those corners and areas 2x a week when I already have to vacuum the stairs is okay for me. This is an area that much cheaper vacuums outperformed the Roborock in. -Water tank being built into the machine is fine for day to day but we preferred a tank that could last for multiple days if ever we went out of town. Overall, I'm really happy with my purchase. I can legitimately say that having a robot vacuum has changed my life for the better. My house is so much cleaner, not only because its vacuumed and mopped daily but dust is way down. I can set the vacuum to go and do a quick clean before company comes over while I handle setting up appetizers or quickly wiping down the bathroom and surfaces etc. It really feels like we have a professional cleaning service coming in every day. I love it so so much. Any robot vacuum would make this incredible of difference, but I ultimately chose a different Roborock because of it's more advanced mopping features and the reliability and ease of maintenance.
