This is my second steam generator iron I have bought and this one is definitely 5 star. It is lightweight and a great steam iron. I was a bit concerned that it had variable temperature settings as my previous one didn’t but I needn’t have been concerned. It is a much better iron and does not make the clothes damp at all. Great price too.

Very lightweight generates a reasonable amount of steam as this is a compact design its a decent trade off stores easily i prefer the upright base design it can be locked securely to base for ease of moving more importantly the reservoir is so easy to fill and empty with ordinary tap water and holds 1.5 litres for the price point this is an excellent introduction to steam generator ironing im so pleased with the iron and its easy controls and enclosed instructions are very easy to follow top marks for this iron update this salter iron imho matches a tefal iron i own that costs nearly three times as much they both do a superb job this iron is just a much more reasonable price entry point that if it only lasts half the time of the tefal its still a bargain im very happy with this iron and dont let the price point make you think its inferior as it gets the ironing done very quickly and efficiently highly recommended

Been using steam generator irons for years and needed replacement for last Morphy Richards one that recently packed up. Purchased this Salter one as liked the idea of it being upright and taking up less room. Fully tested it last weekend to clear the ever mounting ironing pile in the basket. Cleared entire basket on one tank of water, placed unit on the floor under ironing board and the lead was plenty long enough to reach and allow me to use entire board rather than have unit sitting on the end of it. Only thing I didn't like was the amount of water that accumulates on floor but I have found this to be the case with every generator iron I have used. Heated up quickly, maintained temperature and actual iron is lovely and light. Easy to store and function to lock iron on base is good as it keeps it safe and secure when not being used. Superb value for money

The iron sticks onto delicate material and keeps catching on the edges. Also the iron keeps tripping my electrics.

I'm very happy with my purchase. I was looking to upgrade my iron. And I'm so glad I picked this compact steam iron. I love that it can be stored in upright position. It certainly doesn't take lots of space as some other chunky steam irons. It heats up very quickly and produces great power of steam. It has narrow front tip which is great for my daughter's frilly dresses. I would recommend it as it makes my least favourite job more bearable.

This has stopped working. It was never a good iron. The water gets blocked coming through the tiny hole from the water container to the iron itself. It also is very difficult to clear all the water out when finished so you will get brown water coming out on the first thing you iron. It ruined my ironing board cover I would not recommend this at all.

Only had this iron a short time but so far really pleased with it! It glides over clothing easily and although there some reports of water leaking I have not experienced this, you just need to make sure it reaches the required temperature. Looks great as well. Hopefully will continue to be great!!
