Trying to be loyal to my car to get to 20 years!
I bought an Infiniti fx in 2003. In 2008, it saved my life and those of four other people. Of four vehicles involved, three were totaled, but mine limped away, to be repaired to about 95%. i promised it I would be loyal and drive it until it clearly told me it could do no more. (Easy to make the promise, because I pretty much hate most other cars I have driven and am waiting for the next crop of electrics before I go with something else.) Fast forward to now, the paint is great, the engine purrs, it gets washed and lubed frequently. CD player is dead. (I connect the phone, so who cares?) But the black leather seats. Just horrible. Depressing. Rips, gouges. Every time I got in I was reminded of how old it was and it just not being nice anymore. Maybe get new seats? Doing anything like that would be about half the "value" of the car. Covers? Nothing fits. Finally, a few nights ago, I was thinking about it and thought that there MUST be something. And there was.I read the reviews, the cautions. Figured $10 was worth a try. Cleaned the car yesterday in preparation for its arrival. Washed, vacuumed. Sigh. Still not very nice inside. The repair tape arrived at 5:30 tonight. By 6:10, I was applying it. (Had to get the black duct tape off and clean off the residual glue.) Cut off all of the old torn leather. Found some good seams to follow. MEASURED and figured out close curves to cut into the tape BEFORE I tacked it down. I methodically applied it to the driver's seat, then the tops of the rear seats. At 7:45 I had it all applied and stepped back, doors all open, to take it in.Wow. Without exaggeration, from four feet away, it looks l put in a new interior. In all honesty, I don't know how long it will last, but if I need to do it every couple of months, I think it would still be worth it.Get this tape. It is so worth it.

Easy to apply
The passenger seat of vehicle had a rip/tear. This was just what I need to prevent the seat from getting worst. I sized up the area needed to cover the space, cut to size and remove the backing to expose the sticky side and applied to the seat. I did clean the seat before applying. It was easy to apply and the thickness was just right. Great value for the money. The color didn't patch perfectly but that's okay as I applied this to a car this 20 yrs old. I just didn't want the seat exposed or ripping more when someone sat down. I like how the material feels and decided to use more to over the middle console. The original material on the middle console and exposure to sun just made the console look and feel gross. After applying this product, the middle console looks and feels great. This material is easy to clean and hasn't peeled up. Stays in place on a flat surface.

A good product
I used this for the front black leather seats in my 2008 Lexus rx400h. Especially on the driver's side there were cracks that had began to tear open. This tape worked well, I only wish I had more and that it was wider than 4 inches. I tried to order 3 more but Amazon's app wouldn't allow me to because it said the seller only allows one roll per customer. This worked in my favor because I found another Amazon seller who did have 6 inch by 120 inch rolls and I was able to purchase 4 more from them. This type of tape has very good Adhesion on flatter areas but around corners can be tricky. It is fairly easy to use, although scissors work better than an exacto knife to trim. The thickness is enough to provide moderately durable coverage over torn areas but thin enough to be able to blend in without being overly noticeable. If you can trim in such a way that edges meet up with seams or if you tuck the edges it is even less noticeable. Edges that are exposed aren't bad since the material is so thin, and they could probably be easily hidden further with a leather or vinyl repair kit that has a liquid or paste to blend the edge with the older material. I wasn't quite that adventurous, I simply wanted it covered to prevent the tears from worsening, I plan to get matching plush car seat covers so I wasn't too worried about it being perfect. I hope this helps, good luck with your projects/repairs!

Good material, but the ends flip out
I love the idea of this, but it didn’t work great. The ends of the tape flip out so it doesn’t look very well done. I tried using a hot glue gun to glue down the edges (I used this tape on our leather recliner that had some rips in the arms) and that didn’t even help it stay down. The material itself is fine, but I wasn’t super thrilled with the outcome of how it looks.

Not that strong
The material is very good looking and it stiks well in flat surfaces. But in corners it got loose, hat to use some extra glue.
