Ordered this for my mom to use while working on art projects. It’s lightweight and the large viewing lens with a light feature is very nice. The clarity through the lens is acceptable, but not as good as a glass lens. Considering the price, I didn’t expect exceptional quality. Overall it’s a decent magnifying glass.

This is great - the handle folds up for easy storage.You have a choice of bright white LED lighting, soft white or a combination of both!!Large screen allows you to enlarge and magnify a wider area.Works great.

THE SIMPLICITY

This magnifier is very large, the lens being about the size of a bluray case. That being said, it is very lightweight. The lens is plastic, smooth on one side and groved on the other side. The light works very well and is plenty bright. This magnifier only seems to maybe double the size of print. If you try and magnify more it gets blurry. It works well for reading but do to how the lens is made, I'm not a big fan. It does not do well with extremely small fine print due to its lacking magnification. I also found it scratches fairly easy due to its plastic lens. The light is powered by three AAA batteries.

I got this for my mom who finds this useful for reading smaller print when needed. The magnifier is decent quality, needs batteries (not included) and light can be turned on for even better recognition. She also likes that the handle folds in for easy storage. Not bad for the price and useful to have around the home.

Since I am in my late 70's I knew my eyesight was not the best but I would just do little things to accommodate the problems like only read for a short time, get a backlit Kindle, change around the position I was holding the paper in to get a better shot at those words that tried to walk off the page. This magnifying glass has made most that unnecessary. The words are now bigger, brighter or at least softer on the page and I can read the entire Sunday paper without a break. I just wish I was able to hold the newspaper or book in both hands but unless I grow an additional hand I don't know how I can do that.

OK, we're all getting older (we hope), which can make it harder to do close-up work. A good light really helps, and if that good light is also attached to a magnifying lens, so much the better.You can choose to clamp the light to the table or mount it to the heavy metal stand that comes with it. Personally, I prefer using the clamp--the stand can still move around a bit. The light also has two arms with alligator clips that you can clamp onto the extensible arm--it's originally intended for holding pieces in place while you solder but can be surprisingly useful for crafts and other tasks.Recommended.
