Happy to find USA bee pollen!
I bought this to see if it will help my body with seasonal allergies. I have not taken it long enough to know that answer. From the research I did, I was trying to find bee pollen from the Midwest. This is not from the same state I live in, but it is from what I call the Upper Midwest. This is the very first time I have ever tried bee pollen. It is a little crunchy, and has a mildly sweet and milky flavor - it actually reminded me of dry powdered milk. I grew up in a household that had an apple orchard and subsequently we had two bee hives. I adore honey bees, they are so important to our environment. However, "back then" my father never harvested the bee pollen - only honey and honey comb. I am looking forward to using this product successfully for my intended purpose! Meanwhile if you are on the fence about what the texture or taste may be - its not an issue at all for me. I have used it in yogurt and on my bowl of cereal so far.

TASTY, LITTLE, GOLDEN POLLEN NUGGETS
I was initially apprehensive about buying a whopping 10 lbs of pollen granules in a plastic bag. Would the bag leak pollen all over the place? Would the pollen have an off-putting flavor? Well, I'm delighted to report that the pollen came double-bagged in THICK plastic bags that don't leak, and the flavor is FRESH, SWEET, AND SLIGHTLY FLORAL I received AT LEAST 10 pounds of sheer, healthful, goodness. (When I weighed the pollen on my postal scale, it was closer to 11 pounds, reminiscent of the generous "baker's dozen" -- that is, one more than the stated amount.) Stakich Bee Pollen is hands down the best deal available on the market for purchasing pollen.

altogether a solid price and product.
I've been using this particular product on and off for a few years now. My favorite aspect is they come consistently nice and chewy. Some brands offer super dry and hard bee pollen. yuck. 95% good experience. Only one batch in the last few years that tasted super bitter sweet. Likely the "chemically" taste some people mention. It could be from bitter flowers or....? who knows? I do care about chemical contamination. hopefully I won't have another bitter sweet batch. If it weren't for the singular bad batch, I'd have all 100% positive things to say. Also, on rare occasions I've had some bits of sand or tiny hard earthy stuff. only here or there, not like mouthfuls of sand in every bite.

My 1st repeat purchase, this item
At first, I thought the 1st bag had very fine gravel in among the kernels. Upon later inspection of repeated instances of same, I investigated... to find that there was NO gravel. They were simply rock-hard-dried kernels. Flavor of that bag was a little on the tart side, too. However, if you've bought much bee pollen over the years, you well know how much the various qualities of such can vary from batch to batch, year to year, etc., etc. So, I thought to give Stakich another chance, and re-ordered, once I'd consumed the 1st bag. About every six weeks, I also order a 5 lb jar of Stakich (thick, golden yellow/sweet/delish) 'Raw Honey'. Great stuff. Been buying it for about two years, now. $35/jar/Amazon). I also recently bought a jar of Stakich 'Raw Honey w/Royal Jelly, Bee Pollen, and Propolis'; also $35 (for 2 1/2 lb jar). Also, 1st time. Dark, thick, delish honey, though I can see no pollen or propolis in it. Tastes great, however. :-) I have bought 5 lb jars of raw honey, before (other brands) with 1/2 to 1" thick propolis/wax on top of the honey. Ummm, good! Sure enough, only a rare rock-hard kernel in the 2nd bag of bee pollen. Mostly, this bag has pretty soft, though fine (over-handled/processed?), kernels. Definitely sweeter than the 1st bag, too. I often buy local bee pollen, when I happen across it. Unfortunately, its always way over-priced (though, due to lack of handling, usually consisting of larger, softer kernels). Even the local stuff can vary dramatically, however. Even from the same source(s). Considering all the above, when this bag runs out... I'll buy another one from Stakich. :-) Recommended; with above caveats.

Product seemed good value but packaging really POOR
Not an expert of bee pollen so I can not 'rate it' intelligently. Hva used this food before and it seems ok. Only bad was the fact that the reseal strip simply DID NOT WORK! PErIOD - tried several times but impossible to seal. It looked flimsy and cheap. AND with this type of product keeping sealed asn as fresh as possible is important. Fortunately i had some glass jars of proper size and tight seals to use. Would suggest to manufacturer that he MUST have a resealable pouch. The fact that it would seem there was no quality control at the plant concerned me. If they would overlook something that basic AND THAT IMPORTANT make me worry about overall quality. Would have given 5 stars if a simple seal worked
