Yellow star
I would like Yellow Star By Jennifer Roy's book to be used in schools and educational discussions so that everyone learns the true details and horror stories from the survivors who were left to tell the world all the horror and pain that they somehow managed to get through. We all should never ever forget what they had suffer . This book is wrote in a simple plain way anyone from the young too old ,would have no problems with understanding the format it is written in.

and at some point I had the feeling that she did not enjoy writing it
I finished the book in about 3-4 hours, however I knew after the first 10 pages I will not read anything from Jennifer Roy ever again. The style was awful, and at some point I had the feeling that she did not enjoy writing it, didn't even try to write it properly, just wanted to be over with it.Totally disappointed.

A charming story of a terrible time
A charmingly written story about the terrible life for Jews in the Polish ghetto of Lodz. This is the story of Syvia written by a relative many years after the events of the War. Svyia spent much of her childhood in the ghetto but she and her family miraculously survived.Jennifer Roy tells Syvia's story from her memories but in blank verse. It works beautifully.

Excellent read
A powerfully written true story that touches the heart and opens your eyes to the terrible atrocities suffered in WW2. Cleverly written through the eyes of a child

Disappointing
This was a story recalled by a child survivor of the Polish Jewish ghetto. Its author, a relative, uses a strange writing style, which fails to assimilate the rich primary source material into some sort of context. An attempt was made in the Timeline at the end of the book, but this does nothing to rescue this badly written piece of work, which is very short, and can be read in a few hours.

This is a must read book
This book gets 5 stars from me, I couldn't put this book down. I found it heart breaking and heart warming all in one go. The survival of a family, friend's and a whole community through the eye's of a child. What more can I say but when I ever see a blown piece of dust I will think of the dust families !! Read the book and you will understand. I recommend this book to every one, we must never forget the horrors and atrocities of the second world war.

Good read I will never forget what has been written in the pages.
Well done the book gives an insight to the most terrifying world a child could live in. War, and the Nazi rule. Well done for capturing these terrifying moments. I would buy this book as a present in the future.

Such an amazing account of the atrocities that the Nazis and Germany as a whole put innocent Jewish people through! Sad but great read through the eyes of an innocent.
