Just Say No (even though it's looks really cute)
I know this is adorable, and if you're reading the reviews and you're seeing some of the low score reviews you're thinking to yourself it's adorable we can make it work. I know this because I did the exact same thing and I cannot even begin to tell you how much I fully regret it.The manufacturer of this desk should be ashamed of themselves for obviously having no pride in their craftsmanship. I bought this desk from Amazon because of the price, I've seen this just listed for up to $350 on other sites--I cannot even begin to tell you how angry I would have been if I had spent more money on this thing, as it is the price isn't worth it. The following is a list of issues that we had, this is a short list and is not all encompassing but this is the highlight real of a 5+hour ordeal.1. Only two pieces of this desk, the top and the base of the drawers are made of MDF the rest is made of super low grade particle board. In general I wouldn't be concerned about that for a kid's desk BUT2. At least 95% of the pre-drilled holes into the particle board in places where two pieces joined were NOT pre drilled / aligned properly. This is a gigantic problem as with low quality particle board if you have to take a screw out and put it back in a quarter of an inch or a half of an inch away a lot of times the particle board disintegrates and you can't get the screw to grip. there is also no way to tell as you're assembling individual pieces that there's anything wrong with where the pre-drilled holes are until you get to the end.4. Missing hardware and it was more than a few screws. For the drawers the pieces of connection hardware three of them they sent didn't even go with this particular desk none of the pre drilled holes matched and it was clear that they were for some other item the company manufacturers. there were several other screw types that are missing altogether. Part of the problem was the bubble pack the hardware was packaged into, the top piece which is where all the numbers that identify the hardware looked like it got smeared when it came off the printing press so it was difficult to try to figure out easily which piece of hardware was which at a glance.3. The cam bolts were still covered in manufacturing oil residue. The reason this is such a huge problem with this desk is that it's a white and it's not painted it's some sort of laminate but it's not even a real laminate it's like a paper overlay almost. So as you're installing the cam boltd and you have this residue on your fingers it gets on the desk. You have to very carefully with a just barely damp cloth wipe it away immediately or it stains and you can't get it off. Along those same lines, the one good thing about this desk construction the manufacturer still got wrong. There are places where tiny dowel rods are used for connections, the dowel rods already have a glue covering on them that you dip into water to activate which is nice so you don't have to deal with wood glue EXCEPT the glue covering is a bright green color, when you get them wet and try to insert them guess what happens? Green water goes pouring down the side of the desk, again this is an issue because of the poor quality of the paper like laminate do you have to wipe it away absolutely immediately or it stains.2. As a result of two hours after putting the whole thing together the desktop fit on perfectly but absolutely none of the drawers would fit into any of the spaces. I double checked every single step of the instructions to make sure the right hardware was used everything was installed correctly and it was, this is how I figured out whoever pre-drilled the holes drilled them in the incorrect places because nothing underneath the desktop was squared.4. After spending three hours building this desk (the instructions were relatively helpful but missing hardware made this difficult and resulted in a $20 first trip to the hardware store) and an hour double-checking to make sure I didn't mess something up, I ended up taking 90% of it apart, going to the hardware store AGAIN and spending about $50 on additional hardware and wood glue and basically rebuilding the desk myself. As a side note by trade I'm a scenic designer, I regularly design sets for theater and musicals and have also worked on the construction sets at times so I'm familiar with tool usage and hardware, this was definitely not user error. I also own power tools including drills. If I didn't already own this equipment I wouldn't have been able to get the stuff together properly.I was so disappointed and angry when I realized the desk didn't fit together properly, if there was some way to have sent it back and returned it I would have, but it was already as assembled as it could be and I didn't want to be out $170 which is why I made the decision to rebuild it myself. I'm not going to bother contacting the manufacturer as it sounds like nobody has really had a great response from them. This desk deserves zero stars but I gave it two because it is adorable, assuming you have the construction skills and are willing to spend more money at a hardware store to get the pieces of equipment you actually need to make the desk fit together and function properly.

Follow directions and cross reference with pictures
Unlike most reviews I was able to put up this desk together with no problems. I was a little hesitant bcuz of previous reviews. I followed directions exactly but I also really looked at the instructive pictures as well and aligned the assembly according to how the pictures have it drawn out. You have to look closely. I had no problem with the drawers or the sliders for the drawers or anything of that matter for putting this together. For under $200 this was a great buy. I’m a female and did it myself in 3hours. Unless you cannot follow instructions or capable of going off a detailed picture, you should be fine building this. I have always been putting things I purchase together though so for a first timer it may be difficult. I actually really like the desk. For $200 I’m not expecting a solid wood desk that would cost at least $1000.

Worst experience ever
Putting this desk together was the worst experience ever. It came in like a million pieces and took over 7 hours to put together. I literally had to stop, go to a store, and buy an expensive electric screwdriver to help install all the screws that came, because my whole hand and wrist was in so much pain from putting this together. There were missing screws and the instructions were confusing at times. The whole lock-in-place screws are a horrible invention. It never stayed in place with the receiver piece. And till this day, I feel like one side of the desk could collapse because the lock-in-place screws do not work. I will have to go back in with a hammer and some nails just to make sure it does not fall apart. If I knew it would be so difficult to put this together, I would have never purchased it. Buyer beware!

Unfortunately...
while this piece is well-priced, as a mass-produced item, it is not carefullly crafted. I hired womene to put it togther for me only to find out that hole were drilled in such a way that when the main sliding drawer was assembled, it did not fit inot the slot. I did call the company, (no number is given on their site- I got it from Amazon), and they were willing to send me a new drawer. But then I would have had to bring in aother person-- or if I did it myself, not have it ready when I neeed it. It's just so annoying that these pieces are made so shabbily that you can almost guarnatee somethign will go wrong. I don't expect this to look like a high-end product but the spaces for the drawers are also full of gaps. Disappointing.

Time consuming to build and mismatched knobs!
First off, the desk should have come with 4 gold knobs. Instead, we got 3 gold knobs and one round silver knob. Extremely disappointing.Second, my husband remodeled our entire house from top to bottom, all by himself with zero help. He is currently on hour THREE and the desk is only about 75% done! It’s extremely time consuming to put together. Make sure you have an entire evening, or longer, allotted to put together your child’s desk!

Looks better in the picture!
Very hard to assemble. Not sturdy at all. The drawers are not aligned properly. And the big drawer is broken. I would not recommend. The only reason I'm keeping it. Was a gift to my daughter. Otherwise I would send it back. Looks better in the picture.

Great Kids desk!
This is an incredibly cute little desk for the money. It looks adorable in my daughter's room. We bought the book case and the dresser also so it really ties together her new room. I was afraid it would be very tiny but it looks like an adult size desk. I haven't ordered a chair for yet but her children's chairs are too small for it so I think it takes a regular size desk height chair. It did take an extremely long time to put together my husband is very good at building pre package furniture and it took him 3 hours.. But absolutely no issues with putting it together all the pieces fit nothing was damaged so as long as you have the patience and the time it's great!

Cheap as crap but looks ok
The reviews are accurate. There are a ton of pieces and took me about 3 hours to assemble. It is made of very cheap press wood and won't last long but looks ok for now. Also has a wired smell.

Good, not great.
Looks great, excellent size, but it’s cheap. Some of the edges look like they are going to peel. It’s what I expected, for the price.

Cheap
Piece of crap. Just assembling is creating scratches and the pieces aren’t fitting flush together properly. Don’t waste your money!
