Melinda (1972)

I really dig classic black films and this is one that doesn't disappoint. For me, it's more about getting to see legendary black actors during a time when black unity and black awareness were key to black life. Vonetta Mcgee was a foxy lady in every since of the word. She was inspiring as well as beautiful, she epitomizes what it was to be black woman in the 70's. Oh yeah, Calvin Lockhart did his thing, I mean; the brother was definitely player made. Can you dig it.

The name of the movie is Melinda but it’s really about Calvin Lockhart. The movie comes in two parts. The first is his love affair with Vonetta McGee. The second half is about someone trying to set him up and turns into a mystery action flick. As usual a powerful white man is behind everything. The story suffers from a slow pace especially when it deals with the Lockhart-McGee romance. Even when Lockhart is on the run the story doesn’t move enough to keep you interested. Jim Kelly makes a special appearance.

One of my all time favorite movies.

I enjoyed this movie when it was released, my only problem is the package was found on my sidewalk not on my porch or any place it could not be damaged or taken by almost anyone that passed my property

it was great....looking at it...rare movie

I went to the movies to see this in the 70's and never forgot about it! I've been looking for it for years and am very pleased to finally have it. The video is very clear and I like the story line!

I gave this to my brother as a Christmas gift. His response was this was the best Christmas gift he ever received.
