Black Universal Waterproof Hammock Back Seat Cover By Majestic Pet Products

We recently purchased an SUV (Toyota 4-Runner) that has leather seats and needed something to protect the back seat from the paws of our two full grown labs. This has been excellent for preventing scratches and tears. I can't really speak to the waterproof abilities. The material is fairly thick and sturdy and we've had no issues with the straps loosening or breaking.It protects not only the seating area but also the backs of the front seats and most of the top (front) of the back seat. Our dogs can get a little excited during a drive, so this was very important. It also leaves enough room beneath the section that hangs from the front seats to still have the cargo area of the rear floor board underneath (which is important when we're fully loaded and headed off for a vacation or the holidays, every little square inch helps). It kind of creates a little hammock area for the dog in the back seat.It's long enough that it extends a little over the sides of our back seat so that when the dogs jump in they don't damage the seat side either. When we don't need it, I simply roll it up and store it behind the back seat.The only negative I have, and this is really minor for us, is that it slides around a little bit on the leather seats. This probably wouldn't happen on cloth seats at all or with a smaller dog. We fixed this problem by putting an old blanket on top of it for the dogs to lay on. Now they are comfortable and the seats are protected. Winner!I saw in another review that the instructions were bad or didn't exist. I'm not sure why you need instructions. This thing basically lays on the seat (there are slots for the seat belt latches in case you want to leave it in all the time), and then you adjust the hanging straps (like any adjustable strap you'd find on a duffle bag, laptop bag, etc.) to fit the depth and height of your seats. UPDATE - Now I have been using this cover for 2 months instead of two weeks, when I first reviewed it. I'm bringing my review down from 4 stars to 2 stars for a couple reasons. 1) It is NOT keeping my seat clean. A variety of factors combine to allow dirt & water down to my leather seats. The seat cover slides A LOT, whenever a dog jumps in/out or moves around; often their wet, dirty feet end up on the seat. The upper back corners of the cover flop down now that it's not new anymore, revealing more of the seat back. The Velcro slots for the seatbelts have accumulated some dog hair and the Velcro no longer stays closed no matter how much I try to clean the Velcro. 2) One of the Velcro seatbelt slots actually ripped away from the material along the whole length of one side and I had to sew it back together.Overall, I have to buy another seat cover. This one is just not working. I think it should have lasted more than 2 months. I would not recommend this product.Original review:I searched everywhere for the perfect seat cover to preserve my new car. I couldn't find a "perfect" one and I finally settled on this one. It's good points include: waterproof backing, wide enough to cover across a 2014 Nissan Altima with just an inch or two extra on each side. Cons are: the clips do not stay where you position them, the cover easily slides to reveal the seat when the dog jumps into the car. There is little you can do about the latter other than try to hold the cover as the dog jumps in; that's still not foolproof with my dogs. As a workaround to the clips loosening, I have positioned them and then tied the whole strap in a knot right behind the clip. That seems to be keeping it in place, but I haven't taken the cover in/out of the car very much and that's when the biggest issue occurs. The cover is slightly short front-to-back if you want it to come right up to the bottom of the head rests on both seats. It also has long velcro slots where seat belts can be slid through the cover. I couldn't see that in the picture. I didn't actually want slots because I thought it would just be one more place for the dirt to filter down to the seat. So far, the velcro has held and that has not happened. I've been using it 2 weeks. Lastly, the description says it has something on the underside to keep it in place. That is just not true. It would be great if it did. Overall, I am pleased that this cover is keeping my new leather seats free of water and gravel that my two Australian Shepherds bring into the car. However, it does not stop a dog this size from being able to put their front paws on the center console even when I have it pulled as high as I can. I would like to see one of these covers designed with sides that hang down to reduce seat exposure with side to side movement when the dog jumps in. For now, this one will suffice.

I just got a new car and have been looking for something to replace the quilts used in my last car. I have never used a hammock before, so I read through all the reviews of the different hammocks for sale. I decided on this one. It came today and I couldn't wait to review it! First, the tan color matches my cars' interior and the color of the dog that won't let me go anywhere without her. It fits great in my car and we can use it in my husband's car as well. It quickly and easily installs, and removes just as fast. My girl is well behaved and sits and looks out the window. She doesn't climb all over the backseat. In my other car, she would stick her head between the seats which would get hair on them, but because of the way this hammock fits across the seats, she doesn't even try, she just sits and enjoys the ride. I took her out for a ride and she paid no attention to the hammock. I've read some reviews of other hammocks that had a chemical smell to it but this doesn't have any smell that I noticed. In my line of work, I use nylon and cotton materials so I believe this material is durable and I foresee no problems with it as wear and tear are concerned. The straps that go around the headrests are tightened up as far as they will go and are a little loose in my car. I image that is to accommodate for different size headrests. This is no big deal to me because I am very handy with a sewing machine and can alter them myself to fit my car. First impressions are lasting impressions. I like this product!

I have a Mitsubishi Lancer and although wide enough to reach both doors I find it's a bit too loose when hanging, mostly due to the adjustable straps being a bit too long (even when at their tightest setting). Luckily I'm no stranger to sewing so I can easily make them shorter and fit better.Overall excellent quality, made from heavy duty material. I feel confident letting the dog in my brand new car now :) haha

Took it out of the box and already the velcro was coming undone (bad sewing job). Straps are very thin, so I hope they won't come undone the first time my dog jumps in the car. The fabric is thinner than what I was expecting, however, at first glance, it seems water-resistant. It's a perfect fit for my car. All in all, I didn't want to pay a lot, so I guess you really do get what you paid for: cheap but useable.
