Amazing pens!
I have a lot of fountain pens. Some quite a bit more expensive than this. But this has become my favorite. It is completely reliable, smooth writing, & extremely comfortable in my hand. I bought both the starry one & the all black one. Both are amazing!

Spreading the Truth
I have a lot of fountain pens and really didn't have the urge to buy another, especially an expensive $100+ pen. I had been on Amazon looking for something else and this caught my eye with its name. Price was under $30 with the coupon. I saw one negative review and found it pretty childish- the pen itself wasn't evaluated as much as the name. Good grief! Luckily I saw overwhelming positive reviews for the PEN itself and decided to try it. On the positives- it's a good value, it writes well, looks great, and can be an everyday carry. Cons- very minor...I prefer medium nibs (this only came as a fine), and while it posts OK, it can pop off if not enough pressure is used posting it. My personal preference is ebonite, but for the image design, I can see why a metal body was used. After writing with the pen a few minutes the metal aspect really wasn't a hinderence. I tried hard to find a writing flaw, but, it consistently left a true line all the time.

So far it's a good pen.
This seems like a great fountain pen, feels good, with a decent weight. The nib feels strong, though I'm not going to purposely test it's limits...lol... The converter tube is either glass, or some sort of high quality acrylic. Overall, it's a good pen for the price, recommended.

Excellent
Simply put, an excellent fountain pen. This contains almost everything a newcomer to the fountain pen hobby would need to get started; a fountain pen, obviously, a few ink cartridges, and an 18ml vial of ink. The construction of the barrel and cap is very sturdy, the metal feels good, the threading between the barrel and cap is great and should resist potential spillage, and the galaxy design is pleasant to the eye. The nib itself is very nicely machined, featuring an X with a fountain pen interpolated into it and the word "galaxy" under it, and "EF" under that to denote the extra-fineness of the nib. The nib itself writes without a hitch, although, buyer beware that an extra fine nib can leave us shaky or "chicken-scratch" writers exposed, especially when compared to, say, a medium nib, as there is no forgiveness in how you write your letters. It could necessitate a learning experience for some. The pen comes with its own screw-type converter, which is different from a piston in that the converter can of course be removed and used with ink cartridges, if one chooses. Converter-type fountain pens seem to be more popular these days, although a pen coming with a converter as well as cartridges and ink at such a reasonable price is somewhat of a rarity. A bit of a learning curve if you're newer to using converters is that the converter will only fill itself up about 40% if the pen is simply dipped into the ink and filled. This amounts to not very much ink and frequent refills, as converters are already somewhat limited in capacity. This can be remedied by purchasing an ink syringe, which allows you to fill the converter all the way directly, and is by far my preferred method of filling pens. Anyhow, I suppose something should be said about the ink itself. I have used neither the included bottled ink nor the cartridge inks, although they seem to be the clinical shade of midnight black that is typically accepted in most professional settings. In the writing sample for my review, I use an iron gall ink called Leipziger Schwarz which offers a nuanced sort of black-blue. The inks included with this set would likely produce an even darker writing experience than that, with little variation in tone. Enough of all that, though. Let me reiterate that this is an excellent starter kit for anyone looking to enter the hobby, as well as being a fine example of a fountain pen in its own right. For the moment, this has become my primary every day carry pen. It's durable, it writes well, and it's cheap enough that I won't cry if I lose it.
