This test was packaged very well, with instructions that were very easy to follow. Everything you need is included, and well organized. The only suggestion I would make for improvement on the test is more explanation on how deep in the ear to go. I was worried that that I would go too deep in the canal, so it is possible that I didn’t go deep enough.The results came in very quickly, but our dog actually started having discharge after using the test (we possibly ruptured something while using the swab) so we had to take him to the vet before receiving results. The result at the vet was a severe ear infection in his right ear.When the results came in, we compared to the results that we got at the vet. There was bacteria present in the left ear and yeast in the right. Both results indicated that we should seek treatment soon. I don’t know that we would have understood how severe the infection was based on the test, but with the suggestion to get treatment soon, I do think that is enough. The only suggestion I would make to improve on the way the results are presented would be to have a link with the results to see what it means, instead of having a legend to refer back to and remembering what results were positive. I hit the exclamation point expecting it to tell me what the result meant because I didn’t see the drop down for the legend at first.

I was gifted a dog ear infection test from My Simple Pet Lab to use on my dog’s itchy ears. The test was easier to collect than I expected- just a few sweeps with a cotton swab on each side. Mailing the test in was convenient, as it comes with a pre-addressed and pre-paid envelope. The results arrived quickly, and showed us what we need to discuss with our vet (yeast and bacteria in our case). I’m very happy with the test overall, it couldn’t have been more helpful & convenient!

All of the My Simple Pet Lab stuff is just easy and convenient. We were able to get our results within one day of them receiving this. We had the option to chat with a vet but didn't take it as we already have medications at home for ear infections. Highly recommend this! Saves you so much time and you don't have to go to the vet if your dog is afraid!

We got both the Skin & Itch and Ear Infection tests for our dog because she's been scratching a lot. We're highly recommending each test (you'll see that our reviews are similar). We previously tried out the Stool Test, which came back negative. Not so this test.The kit is so simple! Everything you need is neatly laid out.Note: You can do this first or later, but you'll need to register your dog on their website and "activate" the test so you can view the results (and share with your vet, either directly from the site via email or a printout to take).Speaking of which, the MySimplePetLab website is super well organized and VERY informative!After donning the provided exam gloves, one ear at a time you unpackage a swab and sample tube, affix the correct ear (left or right) sticker to the tube, and prepare the swab by inserting it into the tube and swirling in the moist goo at the bottom. Next you swab your doggo's ear as instructed, re-insert the swab all the way back into the tube so it snaps shut, and bag the tube. Once both ear samples are bagged, you seal the bag, place it into the mailer, and mail. Voila! (No offense, Doc, but why would we pay you to do this part when we can do it so easily and cheaper?)Talk about fast results! It took the Postal Service 3 days to deliver the mailer, but MySimplePetLab informed us (via email) it was received on that 3rd day and by the end of that very day they linked us to our results for viewing!Sure enough, both ears were positive for yeast and the right ear for one other condition. It's good to know we need to make a vet appointment to treat our pup (her ears AND her skin, which the Skin & Itch test revealed).

My golden retriever is prone to getting ear infections, especially since he loves the water. I found out about mysimplepetlab through Instagram and thought being able to test for my dogs ear ingestion at home was easier and more convenient instead of making a special trip to the vet. The kit is very easy to use and once I sent the swabs in, I got the results back within 1 business day. My results were easy to understand and it showed that my dog had an ear infection in both ears. I called my vet, sent them the results and picked up prescription ear drops that same day. If you think the kit is pricey, they seem to always have coupons available. I’ll definitely be using this again in the future if I think my dog has another ear infection.

I absolutely loved the convenience of being able to do this test from the comfort of our home. Our dog is a bit sensitive with her ears and she has been hating going to the ver lately, so it was nice to do this test ourselves and at her own pace with a lot of patience, love and treats. This test was easy to activate and easy to follow instructions. We got our results literally 3 days later, so so quick. I liked being able to see the lab results pictures too. Super cool!

Simple to use and quick results! Bought the sent and received the result all in less than a week period! Confirmed that our pup still had a lingering ear infection that needed to be treated still without her fear of having to go to the vet!
