The neck doesn't expand to the size of a battleship
I love merino wool. As an experiment, wore a performance fabric shirt from Under Armor, then wore a merino wool shirt to compare the two. Not even close. I was actually cooler in the merino wool and did not offend anyone standing less than 10' away from me with an unsavory aroma. It dried quick and was comfortable, albeit a bit itchy.Fast forward and after trying some different brands, hands down icebreaker does not feel like wool. It feels more like my favorite soft cotton shirt. You know, the one your wife tries to secretly throw away because it is so ragged. Well this shirt feels just like it but does not stink. Here is how I compare it to some others.REI - collars are wide enough that sometimes hard to tell which is the top and bottom. Soft, does not smell after a long day of hiking or trekking through the jungle.Smart Wool - keeps its shape, but have noticed that a couple of them seem to have contraction issues. Does a great job at the stink and a bit thicker, so if you are in a humid environment, takes longer to dry.Arcteryx - love my arcterxy, but when I compare two of the Arcteryx merino wool shirts, they give off a slight aroma (ahem) that is absent from the others, and also feels a bit scratchier. A bit surprised as I am such a big Arcteryx fan. There has been slight pilling, (I wash in gentle with woolite color guard and let it dry naturally. The color has had a slight fade, but it is holding up quite nicely. So whether I am in a jungle, the Rocky Mountains, or Disneyworld, this is my favorite shirt.

just right
I needed a lightweight short sleeve base layer for running, hiking, and general aerobic activity. This was my first wool base layer mainly because of price and potential itching. Normally I have used synthetic. First lets start with fit which is perfect. I am 5 11 - 6 and about 180 a slim build but, more on the athletic side. It is not skin tight but, not loose. Could easily be worn by itself for casual wear and would look good. Second, the itching factor was non existent. This shirt is incredibly soft and comfortable. Third, the price was great much cheaper than other wool gear makers. Fourth, delivery was great no problems or delays. Finally, in terms of performance the shirt works great as a light base layer for aerobic activities by itself or with a light windbreaker on slightly chilly days or under a heavier mid layer on colder days. I also would again say that this shirt looks and feels good enough to be worn as a nice casual t-shirt.

Only Wool sportwear I Buy
Have been buying this brand for around 13 years, and I still have some of those first shirts. Unlike, EVERY other, cheaper wool brand in existence. Have tried them all.Work out daily, cycling, running, lifting, rowing. This is the shirt I wear, in black or gray. Despite frequent washings, not following any directions, they last and last. Some of the lesser competitors I have had holes or tears in weeks, or months. I measure Icebreaker in decades. As well, it fits me better, draping over my shoulders, without the pilling and shoulder bunching of others.

Read the care instructions
Fits great. Very comfortable. Drys super fast. Read the care instructions. Do not tumble dry. If your anything like me with your laundry, you wash it and then dry it without a lot of care or concern going into it. I ran this through the the dryer twice, and it is now a nappy, lint magnet that I don’t think I can wear any more. I have another merino wool/synthetic that is ok to tumble dry. It’s a shame. I suppose I should be more thoughtful with my laundry. I’ve never owned a t-shirt where I’ve had to worry about such things...an expensive one at that

Packs small, super comfortable..
Soft, super comfortable seems to resist odors. I have worn this both as a base layer and as a t-shirt. It seems to help regulate body temperature better than synthetic materials and looks great! I picked this up for traveling, specifically motorcycle touring, looking forward to seeing how it holds up.

Wear it for days and it doesn’t stink...
Merino wool is a miracle fabric. This is as comfortable as a cotton t-shirt but never gets funky smelling. Dries quickly (line dry) and with 2 of them (one if you don’t mind going shirtless while it dries) you can pare your travel wardrobe way down. I’m ordering a second one now...

Nice shirt for camping
I like that the shirt feels light weight, but still helps you stay warm. Tested it out and wore it 4-5 days without washing and it never stunk!

Slightly Itchy Merinos
ProsHigh quality woven fabricsSoft to the touch and feels great in your handKeeps you warmLightweight fabric and luxurious sheenConsThough it's advertised as "no itch" Merino wool, it's in fact not 100% non-itchy.Seems around the neck are and certain parts tend to be itchy and uncomfortable When worn in summer or humid conditions. So don't know why they advertise it as if it's not itchy. :(

Fake Icebreaker. Buy from somewhere else.
Firstly they sent mens design, not womans. Also while one looked like the real thing, the other was obviously fake.Different tag and logo printing than the real thing and not the right Merino wool feel.Sent them back. Spend the extra and buy them from a reputable source.

All hail wool
Great T-shirt. Handles sweat well. Doesn't quite take it all off your body, but is better than a cotton T. Also last a surprisng number of sweaty wears before the need to wash.
