Outdoor ResearchWomen's Wind Warrior Hat

My favorite cold weather hat
I've been looking for a cold weather hat that is windproof, warm, and keeps my ears covered. This had does it all. So many hats cover the ears for a little while and then ride up the head leaving the ears exposed. The flaps on this had stay down over the ears and the snug fit keep the hat in place. It says it's a women's hat, but it fits a man's head just fine. And who cares about good looks when trying to stay warm?!

Extremely warm hat!
My whole family has one of these hats. However, I have to say I think the sizing can be a bit inconsistent. I had purchased my hat earlier this year and one for my daughter. Recently bought one for my husband and although his was the same size as mine, the new one didn't fit him as his head is much larger circumference than mine so I ended up giving him mine (which probably had stretched just a bit) and he's happy. As far as the hat itself goes, its fit is complete on the head, nice and snug, and truly blocks cold and wind! I find it to be one of the best winter hats we've ever owned. Would definitely recommend.

Great Quality Strange Fit
Bought this same hat 4-5 years ago in the green and black version and love it. Just bought the all black version and the fit is totally different. Both are L/XL but sizing and fit are very different. The older version pulls snugly down on your head with the top of the hat touching the top of your head as it should. This new hat would be over your eyes if you pulled it down far enough for the top of your head to touch the top of the hat.(I wear a men’s 7 1/4-7 3/8) The ear flaps are also much longer making the hat fit and look somewhat like a Peruvian hat without the cinch straps. Definitely do not like the extra room in the crown of the hat which results in the hat not fitting snugly. The L/XL will definitely fit a men’s size 7 3/8 and possibly a 7 1/2. Reviews are all over the place in regard to sizing so I suspect there may be different suppliers for the same model of this hat. This hat is very expensive so I will be returning it if I can do so without losing money. Some items listed as “free returns” end up costing a restocking fee which is ridiculously high if not sold and full filled by Amazon.

Quality
Purchased L/XL. Great hat, very warm and comfortable. Provides enough room up top for long hair pulled up in bun and still covers your entire ear.

Does the job! Fits round heads well!
Nice and cozy!! Very pleased with the fitting. Because I have a round head it is hard to find a beanie that fits. But that is not the case for this! Also, the material is very comfortable and nice on the skin.I tend to get a cold head easily and so I tried this product for the first time on a 3-day backpacking trip. The weather got down to 30 degrees F and with my jacket hood, my head was very warm. It held up in wind well, I never once felt cold. I will try this product in colder weather but I feel confident that it will serve me well! Thanks!

Too small
I returned the item minutes after receiving the package. Didn't fit. I'm an adult woman and unisex S-M is way too small. All adults I'd advise buying LG.S-M is child size

Warm but big!
This hat is great for wind resistance. I read other reviews that said the hat is large, and it is. I have to wear it over a ball cap so that it stays in place. If you have a big head, this hat is for you.

Great for winter running - easy to wash/dry, windproof, keeps yer ears warm. Don't be afraid to size up, though.
My requirements for a winter running hat:- warm- windproof- comfortable: not so tight it gives me a headache- covers my ears (even in high winds)- can be machine washed and dried- no lanyard or drawstring to bounce around while runningThis hat meets all my requirements! It's extremely windproof, very warm and fleecy inside. I bought the L/XL size based on previous reviews - glad I did, because the hat is very comfortable! Snug enough to keep the earflaps on my ears in 30mph gusts, but also plenty of room for my rather boxy head (22.5 inches circumference). No hat-related headaches here. The hat has gone through a few washes now, and it's still performing and looking like it did out of the box. (Some winter hats have unsecured Thinsulate lining that shifts or bunches during machine washing. Can't wear a hat with all the Thinsulate bunched up on one side!) So this time, I really wanted a machine washable hat. This OR hat is excellent. I am thinking of buying a second one, just in case I lose this one.

Almost perfect
This hat is probably almost as close to perfect as you'll find in a hat. It's VERY warm and fits very nicely, and isn't too bulky. The Windstopper REALLY works well. The only way they could make this hat better is by making the sculpted shaped part that covers your ears come down half an inch farther. As it is, it's way better than most hats for fit and for doing a good job of keeping my ears warm.

Not the same as they used to be, poorly fitting
I had one of these a few years ago and it used to cover my ears perfectly. The fabric over the ears is less soundproof, so you can hear other people which is an advantage over the M H Dome Perignon. This new one is OK in terms of circumference (my head is 59cm), but it sits much too high up and only really half covers my ears, as a result there's a gap between hat and ears. The old one used to fit snugly around under each ear.The fabric is very windproof and pretty waterproof too. It is well made.It does make me look more of a twerp than usual, and frankly unless it's going to be fully functional it's not worth looking like that.I suspect the design and manufacture is not the same as they used to be.

This would be awesome for anyone with Large or medium heads.
Well made, nice and thick enough, covers ear well, deep enough too,...BUT warning to others with XL head size like myself... It is a tight fit. I would assume it will? stretch a bit over time?
