Mitchell and Johnson WLD-211T Hi-Fi Separate Network Player - Black

This is an excellent piece of kit. It's as simple as that. Such a shame Mitchell and Johnson are no longer trading. True heroes of hifi and British manufacturing. That's right, British.OK, first things first. British or not, this device needs to stand up on its own merits. So, basically, it's well made, easy to use, full of useful functions and most of all, it sounds fantastic. A bargain at £400! So for £130, just a snip.I am a dedicated life long and experienced hifi enthusiast and a sound engineer. I own a lot of equipment.This machine, and the pleasure you can derive from listening to it, it's a world apart from listening through your phone.So easy to use, too.Everything is in the box, high quality remote, interconnects and mains leads to get you going (although I would recommend upgrading these). Best of all, you have coaxial and optical digital inputs if you DAC (as I do), but the analogue outputs are great too.All in all, a great piece of kit. Great price, lovely sound, bargain value.

Better value for money than some units .

Yesterday was my day.I`ve got the Mitchel & Johnson Network Player. Already during the unpacking I could see what high quality the player is. 3! different plugs for several countries cables, antennas and many more are included in the package.Also the remote control is absolute high quality made.The commissioning is very easy. The devices guides you through the menu and after few minutes the adjustments are acomplished.The Sound is absolut brilliant.Ultimately, an absolute bargain and a high-quality device.Thanks Britannia!!

I just sent this back for a refund after spending weeks trying to get it to work with my network (btw, I work in IT so I know what I'm doing!). After customer services informed me that it needs media server software installing on the PC you wish to use it with, I tried two different ones they recommended and neither would see the files I wanted to play (it could see the folders, but said they are empty!). Also, it wasn't visible to the UNDOK software they recommend for tablet/smartphone use, so epic fail. Eventually, I gave up and bought a miniPC running Windows 10, which works fine and plays files of all resolutions (the 211T only supports up to 48kHz/24bit). Give this unit a wide berth!

Great item but only gave four stars as instruction manual was missing had to google it to download the manual as Mitchell and Johnson didn’t want to help very unprofessional

Very disappointed with this network player, the sound quality when trying to stream your own audio from a storage device was very disappointing with no means of adjusting the quality despite that it claimes to have sound shaper dsp for enhanced playback of compressed audio.The dab and internet radio work ok with better sound than trying to stream your own media but still no the best. Also you can't play your own tracks in track order it will only play in alphabetical order, yet another disappointing find. I would avoid this item and save for a better one. My phone's audio is far better than this and you can get a network audio streaming app which again does a far better job and your able to play tracks in the order that you want. Just add a internet radio app on your phone to and its pretty much the same with far better results in my opinion.

The unit is great for the price has dab radio and finds all my music on pc through wireless easy enough also live in the scottish highlands and found a ton of stations with the small ariel for dab if you turn the lage dial the sound increases nice touches all round and the usb is perfect .

I bought this for my son and he is very happy with it.
