Buy it for the RP70538 Cartridge Valve & The RP73625 Check Valve!
I needed the RP70538 Cartridge Valve - quickly, of course, due to a steady leak. All were out of stock, so I purchased this assembly via Prime, which contains both the RP70538 and the RP73625 Check Valve, which one should always purchase when replacing the RP70538. Fit my Delta single handle shower valve perfectly, for less cost than purchasing the two separately (at the time I needed them). I simply unscrewed the old assembly off, cleaned up the existing brass rough in with calcium/lime remover, installed the new assembly, and discarded the brass rough in kit (while main water valve shut off, of course). Several videos on web to help w/this.See picture of the leftover components, including the new/unneeded brass rough in valve and old RP70538 & RP73625 .

Tiny rubber bits pop of frozen and water does not drain.
Easy to replace. But I’m my summer cottage it traps water which when it freezes pops the rubber washers. So remove from any area that will freeze over the winter like lithium batteries.

Good replacement.
Had to buy new cover plate and handle.

Has thread issues.
The female NPT was a little bit too roomy. When you consider that, as often as not, an adapter will be threaded into that and most adapters will only go in so far before the wrench flats interfere, they can't seal completely. I had to completely bottom out the adapters and use both Teflon tape and pipe dope. Other than that, there is plenty of water flow and, when adjusted, the temperature is very hot.

Works like a charm
This pressure valve works as stated. I haven't had any problems. I adjusted the valve since it comes preset from the factory so you won't be able to scold yourself with hot water.

Both valves I bought were defective. 30 day only return window! Junk!
One the valve did not shut off. Both the threaded inlets where badly cast and leaked regardless of how tight the supply line fittings were tightened. These valves are junk! I was a plumbers apprentice and have been doing plumbing for over 40 years. DO NOT BUY THESE VALVES! They also must know how bad they are since they only have a 30 day return window. With trying to get all you supplies together before the odds are pretty good they won't be installed in 30 days. Will never buy peerless again. Now I am stuck with the trim rings and handles as well. Had to give 1 star for value, but it should be 0.
