The Kingbolen eDiag Plus OBD2 tool is pretty well built and should survive any knocks or drops. It connects with a sturdy cable to the OBD2 port. The cable to the scanner secures via two pillar screws which once screwed in will not fall out, very rigid. The test software runs via your mobile phone which is quite handy as you can move about during the tests. you will need to install the app on the phone. An activation code is provided. This scanner has so many features and I will need time to learn how to use it to its full potential. OK so to start off the scanner will read the Car VIN (anything past 1996) and keep a report on the local database. I ran the maintenance test on my car and found 1 error (power relay), which I was able to clear. The error probably happened when I disconnected the battery. The device supports most manufacturers I could think of. The system scan took about 10 minutes to complete and discovered the previous error which I managed to clear. This device is really capable of many functions but you will need to have a solid background in OBD2 and what the tests achieve. Overall I think this device is capable of matching other devices which cost much more. So far happy with the device. I suspect this will be my new tool for OBD2 testing.

Does work as expected. Bit slow (on iOS) but does communicate as is should. Very convenient as most of them are Android only.

Fantastic tool with plenty of features. Unfortunately useless after the year unless you want to pay £100 each year for access. Not mentioned in the sales advert.

I have used this twice now on out Mitsubishi Outlander 2010 Diesel and it just works.. Check Oil level Fault, fixed with fuel initialiation and a DPF sensor high Temp fault, fixed with a reset.. Just brilliant, saved myself load of money with Mitsubishi dealer repair costs.. This tool allows you to write back to the car not like the cheap ODB readers... Money better spent

As it is not specified in the product description, I was wondering if I can still use the device after the first year with the outdated software? Or is this a case where if you don’t pay, you can bin the thing as it becomes useless….just asking!

This nifty little ob2 reader is so much more than you expect! Not only does it connect to your vehicle in seconds it always does a full health check, along with that there are many service functions! If you are starting out as a mechanic or doing home jobs on your own vehicle this is the tool for you! Especially being pocket sized and connects straight to your mobile device etc. I would highly recommend this product to anyone! Thanks again Kingbolen!

not brilliant does not work well with my 2004 range rover l322 td6 so look at something else if you have a range rover. not tried it with any other car yet.

Well I've used this since last May (7 months) and haven't been stumped by anything, so far. The fact that it works on the phone is a major plus (you always have it with you). I downloaded everything offered and that takes up 7.62GB (it doesn't utilise icloud), so it might not be great to install on anything with less than 32GB of memory. Upgrades are yearly and I believe cost around £80. I'm particularly keen on the link between fault codes and their Youtube description videos. Live data is also a major plus when, for example, checking wheel speed sensors or DPF pressure variation readings. In terms of functionality v. outlay, this has to be a real bargain.
