SoftScience The Fin Men's Boating/Fishing Shoes

I had no idea, as I was completely out of my element and relying “sole-ly” on reviews, that I’d stumbled onto the best fishing/deck shoe ever(!!!) but my husband was thrilled!! He is a deep sea fishing expedition captain. On those small boats out in the gulf, the captain does many jobs and needs comfy shoes that drain water, provide traction, clean up easily, provide foot protection (think amateur fishermen with big hooks...), provide ventilation, and don’t stink. These are awesome, and I got cool-wife points!! I was scared to show them to him when they came because well, they’re not cowboy boots...but he knew exactly what they were. He sat right down and put them on immediately and went outside. He reported instant happiness. Then when other captains,crew, dock- and deck friends saw them, they were amazed that his wife had picked them out and how $$$ they must be. Thanks Amazon and amazon community for helping me hook a great deal on some apparently awesome shoes!!

These are very comfortable shoes. The only bad thing is that they don't seem to breathe. I live in Florida and the heat and humidity makes my feel sweat. The insoles are then slippery and my feet slip around inside of the shoes. The soles are very soft but seem to be holding up well and they have great traction.

I think this is the first time I've taken the time to review something for Amazon. I originally bought my first pair of Soft Science shoes on a whim while on a lake vacation. These are the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. My first pair lasted over a year before being replaced (and they weren't even fully worn out) via Amazon (was thankful they had them available). I have bouts with foot pain (tendons under my foot are inflamed) and these shoes make walking comfortable again. My knee and back pain is better. They also have great grip and are easy to put on/off. My go to shoes from now on.

I purchased these for my husband, who has back and knee problems. He normally wears Gravity Defyer shoes but says these are so much better and he has no back or knee pain while wearing them. He now has several pairs in different styles. While this particular pair is not something you would wear with a suit, it is stylish enough to wear with khakis for business casual or with shorts or jeans - very versatile. We were recently in the Caribbean and he wore these shoes nearly our whole cruise - when he wasn't wearing Soft Science flip flops!

Shoe's sizing is accurate, but the back of the shoe rubs my heel raw, so I don't wear them too often.

I was a little skeptical about buying the SoftScience shoes for my husband for father's day but he saw them in an add and just had to have them. They remind me of a pair of Crocs. My only complaint is they are wide and there are no half sizes. My husband wears an 11.5 so I bought him a 12. They are a little big but his fix was to tie them tighter. Due to their width and tightening the shoe laces the middle was pulled, but I am not wearing the shoes. My husband loves them. He says they are light weight and it feels as if you are not wearing a shoe and they are comfortable.

I wanted to not like these shoes.... not the best looking. I love my sperry gold cups. But I must admit they are VERY comfortable. I spend every weekend on my boat in san diego and the fins are my boat shoe of choice. I am not sure that I would use on a active wet deck like sailing or fishing, I will still use my gold cups for that (safety comes first) . Jp Newport beach ca

Two different shoes of different sizes came in the box. Bought months in advance for husband’s gift - what a disappointment. Hid the order and did not open until March 2018...unable to return. :(
