Worth getting for protecting your rim from being scratched up. Plastic is pliable and slick enough to slide around the rim.

The picture of these destroyed "rim protectors" is after changing one set of tires, indoors, on a nice day. These have never been left out in the sun and were new prior to starting to replace four 17" tires on alloy rims. They are easily one of the worst purchases that I've ever made from Amazon. With use, they do not retain their U-shape. The strings fray quickly from handling and without being used to move the clips around. The plastic deforms easily with a fingernail and obviously fails under pressure from tire irons.If you like your rims, do NOT purchase this product! I marred three of my four rims when the very smooth and nicely rounded tire irons simply pushed through the extraordinarily weak and ductile plastic. Calling this product a "protector" of anything is patently false advertising.

They slip off Very Easy would not reccomend.

I used these Protectors before at my friend's garage and liked them.I asked for a link to buy the same set and he gave me the link where he bought them, but mine were totally different and "lower" quality than his.They got damaged after 2 uses only.

On very first use while mounting a motorcycle tire the soft plastic ripped through and allowed the tire iron to damage the wheel - exactly what they are supposed to be protecting against! Buy something stronger and better!
