Some tactical pens, honestly MOST tactical pens, are ridiculously overpriced. To me paying anything over $20 for one borders on ridiculousness. This pen, for the price (ESPECIALLY if you can get it closer to the $13 price point vs. $20 - and I've seen it move between those two points within 24 hours) is an amazing value.Pen is heftier than I expected- in a good way. It feels solid, strong and tank like in hand. A quick twist of the bottom and you're writing and writing smoothly at that. Comes well packed with an additional ink cartridge and the cartridges are a common brand that are easily found and inexpensive.Has a glass breaker point on the top and, while I didn't test it, I can tell you that how many of us actually might need to break glass but I'll say this pen as heavy as it is in any persons hand and swung at an assailant is definitely going to be felt and could be a very useful and go anywhere basic self defense item. Is it a knife? No. But like I said, especially for a woman or someone that works in an office where they don't think they can get away with packing a pocket knife (I work in one and have two designed to kill knives on me at all times but not everyone is comfortable with that or can get away with it) having this pen can't hurt.We'll see with time how the finish wears- some of these finishes look like crap after awhile and some wear and look in some respects better so who knows. I will say sitting on ones desk or clipped in ones pocket the pen looks amazing and it a nice conversation piece as well.In short- simply a fantastic pen for a fantastic price. For $20 it's a good deal, for $13 or $14? It's a no brainer- you might even do well to buy multiples either for you or as gifts- these would make GREAT gifts especially for grads or colleagues at the office.5 stars and highly recommended.

This pen not only looks amazing, but it is surprisingly light-weight and ergonomic. I was initially concerned that such a bulky pen was going to be more useful as a novelty rather than as a serious writing implement, but those concerns quickly disappeared when i started writing. The pen is very comfortable in the hand and nimble. I like to write in cursive and this pen easily flows on the page. So far the ink cartridge is smooth and consistent, and the pen comes with a spare ink cartridge which is cool.I am military with years of experience writing in the field in various operational environments using different kinds of writing implements with different types of gloves. Although I have not yet used this pen with gloves on, I can tell that it will be quite easy to use in the field with gloves. And the sturdy construction leaves no doubt that his pen would be quite durable in the toughest conditions, even combat conditions.I highly recommend this pen to anyone looking for a sturdy field pen or looking for a unique, functional writing implement for around the office. I know that I will be buying more of these.

Just as sturdy as the basic pen

This appears to be a very viable tactical pen that could be used for self defense. The weight seems to be okay for EDC and fact that it came with an extra refill is great. I only rated it a 4 because I'm a Unibal RT Gel pen user and I just hope I can find a fine point gel refill for this pen. If that's the case I'll rate it a 5. Of course just is just my preference and I admit the ink cartridges that came with the pen write very nice with a smooth ink flow.

I have a collection of these pens. The fit in your hand better than the thin pens we grew up with. It's a solid pen. I haven't used the glass breaker, but it has a nice point to it.

The media could not be loaded.  Bought one for my dad for his birthday and one for my self. I use pens everyday at work. I just received mine yesterday. Day one impressions: very sturdy and fine craftsmanship. the glass breaker tip is sharp and will likely break a window if needed. The pen has perfect balance at the center. The writing is smooth and seamless, while maintaining a comfortable grip. It came with 2 extra ink refills . Somewhere in the questions or reviews someone linked some cheap refills, they did not fit. You will need at least 3 inch refills ( I dont know the exact size), because the suggested 2.75" were way to short. Overall super satisfied.

Im ex military and work for a fire department, i love this pen. I carry it everywhere i go whether I'm at work or not. This pen is solid and writes beautifully. I can not believe that is pen is less then $20 i would have easily paid $40 for it. The end of the pen would easily punch out a window but is also sharp enough to enter through skin and muscle with enough force, it wouldn't take much to injure someone with this. I literally feel safer carrying this. The company is amazing. They have contacted with a couple emails one before it shipped telling me thank you and once i received it. I was able to get a coupon that the company sent me, i will be purchasing another one for my fiancee. If you are looking for a tactical/self defense pen and are worried about which pen /company to go with...............look no further because you have found the company, now just pick out which pen suites your needs. Out of the box one of two broke on first use. The two large halves hold the ink cartridge. The pen comes with a spare cartridge. To open it you pull the sections apart. When I did this the pen came apart and a thin round piece of metal its so thin I consider it a left over shaving fell out. After this the two halves would not stay together. Another minor issue is the pocket clip. It easily comes loose. Not good for a tactical pen. No matter how hard I tighten the cap the pocket clip became loose. A drop of threadlock should take care of it.I am returning one and keeping the other hoping it was a fluke and the pen will last. I bought it for the tactical advantage so if it falls apart no sense spending $15 bucks for a pen when a one dollar pen works.
