Awesome product!
Since birds cannot taste heat or spice, this has been a great addition for my bird feeders. It keeps the squirrels away since they can taste spice and heat. I have noticed a lot less squirrel activity near my feeders! It is a good mix of seeds and the birds seem to love it.

Waste of Money
Don't waste your money. The birds won't touch this stuff, neither did the squirrels, which was why I bought it, but the birds know its crap. I'd give it minus star, if I could.

So far, so good!
I have gone through 6 cakes during the past two months Jan-Feb here in the Northeast. Squirrels will visit, munch for a couple minutes, especially when a fresh cake is put out there, but they quickly jump off as they seem to find some red pepper. Overall, the birds like it: cardinals, woodpeckers, sparrows, juncos, starlings, titmouse, nuthatch, chickadees. I suspect that they will always visit, but not stay very long. I have also added red pepper flakes to my seed feeder contents, and I get the same reactions. The cakes are pricier than the un-peppered cakes, but worth it when you consider how much the squirrels consume of the un-peppered cakes.

The very best way to defeat the battle with squirrels is to think smarter, not harder. These suet cakes deliver that 100%, they stay away and keep our feathered friends fed and happy!

Crumbly compared to the normal suet blocks
Works against the squirrels, unfortunately it's just so dang crumbly. This means that not only does it take half as long for the birds to go through this, half the block is left in a bright red puddle of suet around the feeder.
