Great value!
I purchased this track set as an addition to a Kato set that I already had. I specifically picked this one because I saw a diagram that showed this begin added to my pre-existing set. It's easy to connect, it adds versatility to my set, and it's a great value for your money. I love it!

The absolute must have add on for your Kato starter set.
If you were to only get one additional set for your starter set, this is the one. The bridge and piers add so much and are simple to setup. I've paired this with the M2 and V5 and currently have a monstrous 11' x 4' temporary layout. My two and a half year old loves it, as do I.

First Kato product that disappointed me.
Quick update. I still think the incline is too steep for this small amount of track. I wanted to add that I was able to use both the V-2 and V-9 expansion kits with my M1 starter kit. I said below it wouldn't work without a lot of space, but I was able to make it work on my 6ft by 4ft train bench. I had to buy 3 extra 9 3/4 inch straight track sections to make it work, the rest came with the 3 kits.A little about me. I'm a rookie at model trains. I recently set up a train using the Kato M1 track kit. It's a masterpiece. I added the V9 kit. It's perfect. I have the F7 Santa Fe Bluebonnet set by Kato. Marvelous. With such a great impression of Kato, I bought the V2. It came, but I'm not too pleased. The grade is much too steep for the short sections of track. Once it was set up, my engine could only pull 4 cars up it, and barely. No one else here has mentioned that. But it's not just me, I asked on a couple of model train forums and other owners said the same thing. Anyway. I had extra track pieces (because I didn't know the V9 and V2 don't work together unless you have a LOT of space, but that's another story.) So I was able to give the viaduct entrance a longer lead in. I then used cardstock to make shims to start the rise much sooner than you do with the kit. After experimentation, I am able to pull 13 cars with the controller (DC not DCC) set at the start of the red area. But it runs 10 comfortably now at about 60-70% on the controller dial. The drawback is that the additional rise I put in really doesn't look right in my layout. Anyway, the parts are built to the Kato quality you expect (very well.) The piers work, and the bridge looks good. I'm keeping it. I'm probably going to buy a second loco and take the shims out.

Kato V2
My Kato V-2 just came in the mail today from Best Service Store through Amazon Market place. First the product, its Kato. Yep that's all you need to know, there that good. As far as Best Service, this is my fifth order with another one on the way and as usual excellent service once again. Came on time, properly packaged, IN ONE PIECE(had issues with open boxes from other companies), and the best price on most Kato products. Wait great price great service they should call themselves Great Service Store!!!!!!
