Q: The directions are confusing: It says "once a year", and elsewhere it says "lasts 4 months". Which is it?

Scotts GrubEx is registered by the EPA to be used only once per year. When applied, the residual for grub control is 4 months.

So, that answer by Scotts is essentially a long and confusing way to just say NO, it won't. Do they actually think that will trick people into buying a product with an answer like that? Why not just post the answer that is no, Vine Weevil Grubs are not listed as a controlled target pest. This is just one of many reasons I hate Scotts as a company. They care more about their bottom line than helping customers. Helping customers is what earns and keeps customers.

Q: Can I use with crabgrass preventer?

I don't see why not. Hopefully the crab grass preventer works better than Grub Ex.

Q: Can you use this for trees (like oranges, avacado, clementines) without harming trees?

I do not know for certain. Thus, my recommendation is to call the company. Their phone number and address are on this packaging, thank you.
