L'Oro Del Sud Calabrian Chili Pepper Paste, No Seeds, 10.9 oz

Perfectly spiced, not too hot. Using it in a shrimp dish.

This wonderful chili sauce if packed with flavor. It's not lip-burning hot, but has enough heat to let you know it has chili peppers. Other ingredients are sunflower oil, white wine vinegar, salt, citric acid, ascorbic acid (vitamin C). The disclaimer says it contains sulfites, as do many products to maintain freshness. It's also made in a factory that manufactures soy, tree nuts, wheat, eggs, mollusks, crustaceans. This may be a problem for some. I personally love that it's low-fodmap. in the amount that I use it, 1-2 tablespoons. It has no onions or garlic, yet tastes fantastic. Love it!!

If you're looking to elevate your cooking with a burst of flavor, Calabrian Chili Pepper Paste is a game-changer. I absolutely love this paste, and it has quickly become an essential ingredient in my kitchen. The flavor profile is extraordinary. The Calabrian chili peppers provide a perfect balance of moderate to high heat with a hint of sweetness. This combination creates a rich, complex taste that enhances any dish. The earthy, salty, and slightly sweet notes, derived from the Mediterranean foothills' rich red clay, bring an authentic Italian touch to your meals. What sets this paste apart is its versatility. I've used it in pasta dishes, salad dressings, marinades, and even spread on bread for sandwiches. It adds a delightful kick to everything. The heat is just right—not too overpowering but enough to make your dishes stand out. For those concerned about spice levels, this paste offers good heat without being overwhelming. It's nutty and spicy, providing a pleasant warmth that doesn't burn the mouth. Start with a small amount and adjust according to your taste preference. One of my favorite ways to use this paste is in marinades, especially for grilling. It infuses the meat with a deep, savory flavor that is simply irresistible. If you enjoy using smoked paprika in your cooking, you'll likely find this paste to be a fantastic addition to your pantry. While the price might seem a bit high, the jar lasts a long time, making it a worthwhile investment. The intense yet balanced flavor, combined with its numerous uses, ensures that this Calabrian Chili Pepper Paste will become a beloved staple in your kitchen.
