I love this product. I suffer from dermatillomania (skin picking disorder) so I’m always looking for something that calms down my skin and supports healing. This is one of my staples. It works really well at healing irritation and reducing my redness. The texture is nice, it feels so smooth going on and I like the color, it feels fun like I’m rubbing pepto bismol on my face. Seriously though this product is solid. Love that it has centella and ceramides.

My skins barrier was so damaged and very dry. I was on the verge of thinking I had eczema. This serum worked right away and repaired my skin almost instantly. It hydrated and made it feel buttery smooth. Definitely recommend it. Skin is not ordinary anymore!

Amazon is asking me to comment about skin irritation. What I experienced was a rosacea flare brought on by being left too long on a heating pad at my physical therapist's office. I wasn't paying attention to how long I was on the heat, although it felt like much longer than usual. And they failed (or their timer did) to realize that I was over-cooking. By the end of that evening my cheeks were almost literally tomato red.I researched what to do - cool compresses, discontinue use of other skin care like Vitamin C and other serums which can be irritating. My research indicated that "The Ordinary Soothing & Barrier Support Serum" contained recommended ingredients to calm down the reaction I'd had. And it did! Even without using the Rx I can use for the rosacea, The Ordinary Serum did the job quite well. It did help reduce redness and felt soothing and hydrating.

It feels very lightweight, absorbs quickly, and layers beautifully with the rest of my skincare without pilling.I’ve noticed my skin feels more elastic, calmer, and less irritated, especially on days after using actives like retinol. It doesn’t have a strong scent, which I personally appreciate since my skin can be sensitive.Application is very easy, the dropper works well and the texture spreads smoothly without feeling sticky or heavy.For the price, the quality is excellent. You’re getting a soothing, barrier-support formula that truly works without being expensive.Definitely recommend, especially if you’re looking for something lightweight that dries quickly and supports skin recovery.

Okay so quick context: my skin was happily handling daily use of TO Glycolic Toner. Then I got a minor sunburn on my face after a steady week at the beach, so I took a break from the glycolic acid to let my sunburn heal. A week or so after that, I started breaking out a bit, so I bravely jumped right back into daily glycolic use. Needless to say (or maybe necessary to say?!) I learned the hard way what a damaged skin barrier looks like. My breakouts got wild, they invited their friends, and the venue (my forehead, temples, and sides of nose) quickly reached capacity.Then TO Soothing & Barrier Support Serum shows up to the party and after a week of consistent use, it manages to kick almost all of the crazies out. What a literal nightmare, but with a happy ending.The color is fun (Pink Ranger coded) and it’s thick but not greasy. There’s a little smell but it’s not unpleasant. If you’re sensitive to the odd smell it may take some getting used to (it’s not a fragrance, it’s an ingredient smell). It restored my skin barrier and now I use it on the glycolic acid nights (2x a week now) for peace of mind. Most importantly, it works.

I have extremely sensitive skin, and when I say that, I really mean it. I have gone through so many products that I’ve had to either give away or throw out because they give me hives or contact dermatitis. I also struggle a lot with skin redness, dryness, and texture issues. I have EDS (if you know, you know) which also causes me issues with my skin. I’m also very sensitive to scents.This product has been amazing. I use it day and night, and have been for a couple months now. No reactions so far! Even when my skin has been in a flare up of sensitivity, it’s soothing and doesn’t burn or irritate things more. I truly believe it’s been helping to improve my skin barrier and calm things down. If I miss a day or two, I can definitely see things getting worse again.It’s incredibly easy to use and leaves a nice glow on your skin afterwards. Great for days you’re not wearing makeup! But also works well under makeup as well. You also just can’t beat the price point. It’s so fairly priced, and you get a lot of product.I’ve picked up several The Ordinary products over the past six months since discovering them, and you honestly cannot go wrong with this brand. Their ingredients are transparent and simple, and I haven’t reacted to anything I’ve tried. I’ve started recommending them to all my family and friends, and had a couple people already make the switch. It works better than products 4 times the price. Truly an amazing company and an amazing product.

Magic! I tend to get blotchy red / congested skin on my cheeks in the lead up to my time of the month. Prior to that, I only need to wear tinted moisturiser as my skin is pretty clear and even. When I have the skin breakout I use another brand green corrector, and full coverage foundation - I need a big cover up and I hate it! I’ve tried a few things and while perusing some other Ordinary products saw this and had an aha moment. I used it twice a day a few days into the blotchy breakout and I can verify the redness and blotchiness was visibly improved within those intro days. I’ll look forward to seeing its impact for my “day one” bad skin next month! I would definitely recommend giving it a try if you recognise this issue and see if it works for you, as it’s also good value for money so not a big outlay if it isn’t quite right for you. It’s nice to put on, a little bit runny as it’s in a pipette and can be dripping a bit before you release a dose drop, but not bad enough that I’ve made a mess or wasted product. It is very pink! But blends in instantly, no residue or stickiness for me.
