can be used to drive screws one handed
Great for saving fingers from getting cut when using self tapping screws. Still waiting to hear from the company as to why I have been debited twice though as they seem not to want to respond to messages via amazon :-(

Sleeve came off
I'd had my original drover for over nine years before it failed and it had had a real hammering. My new one failed with on its third use. I've fixed it but I suspect it won't last.

So I ended up ordering 2 of these because I've got a Dewalt mid grip drill that is reaaally powerful and it makes screwing really hard. (No pun intended.) These both arrived looking good. The metal jacket slides up and down and is held in my a C-clip at the base and i think another on the inside of the cylinder. I used it to drill a few 3 inch screws into some 2x4's last night to test it out. It worked great. The magnet was ok at holding the screw on; adequate, which is good enough to to me. When the screw slipped a few times it stayed contained and quickly went back on to the screw. No more mared up work!! It helped prevent stripping the screws too, though it didn't remove the risk entirely. I still needed to be gentle on the trigger and keep the pressure on the back of the drill. As for some of the bad removes about crap quality or broken C-clips. The quality seems as good as any simple metal device could be. Since the outer cylinder extends a few millimeters paster the inner, that does mean that when you screw something down at high speed, the impact will transfer to the cylinder and the C-clip. Apparently, the clip can pop off or the cylinder actually splits, based on poor reviews. Some solutions to consider to extend the life of this tool is: - You could superglue or use tape(or a mix of both) over the clip (I used painters tape because it is essentially paper and becomes a very hard acrylic compositve when mixed). - To prevent the metal tube splitting at some point, you could either use a dremel cutting disk to cut it shorter about 3-4 mm, or perhaps wrap it in duct tape, or try the superglue+painters tape and wrap it tightly a few times to make it stronger. In short, it really is a simple and helpful device, and there are ways to prevent breaking it. Just use your imagination!
