The Bitter Housewife Orange Cocktail Bitters, 3.4 oz

We are really enjoying the bitters but what really stands out is the service. The original bottle was damaged in shipment. I wrote the store to let them know they needed to reevaluate their shipping process. We were able to salvage some of the original bottle so I did not ask for a replacement. Today we rec'd a boxed, triple-wrapped bottle along with a little surprise from their store. To do this without asking, was a wonderful surprise and very impressive. I love to find a well-run store/company that has a wonderful product -- and this is definitely a great example.

There was so little cardamom in this bottle, I had to back all the way up to, "There is actually no cardamom in this bottle of [not] cardamom," go out to purchase some cardamom, and roast said cardamom. After which I dropped the cardamom in the bottle and proceeded to let it cure for several weeks. It's still curing. Hopefully with time and actual cardamom, I'll end up with cardamom bitters. I'm entirely unthrilled to have paid for this product, with shipping, way too close to $30, and have it be completely unusable as is, find it is unreturnable, and then have to essentially make cardamom bitters for myself. Not what I had in mind. If they were hoping to create a cohort of Bitter Housewives, well...Good Job! Otherwise...Giant FAIL. I won't buy this again, and I don't recommend it to anyone else.

These cardamom bitters were the first I ever tried, and I just returned to them after trying another brand that a) didn't even taste like cardamom and b) needed about four times the amount to taste any flavor. I also like supporting another Oregon-based small business!I use them with sparkling mineral water for a refreshing non-alcoholic beverage, but they'd likely also work well with something like vodka that wouldn't mask the subtle but fantastic flavor of cardamom.

My husband & I are whiskey lovers. We have tried many bitters for various whiskey cocktails & this one is the winner for an amazing old fashion. The orange notes are to die for. Highly recommend.

So good. Needed this to complete a recipe and it was exactly what I was hoping for. I love love love this flavor.
