Decided to try this on my oldest cat because she's down to 8 lbs. She doesn't have any known health issues, however she will be 14 in a couple months and I added two young male cats to my household 3 years ago and she hasn't been the same. She used to be out and about more but the youngest male has become the resident bully and when he sees her, he immediately chases her back under my bed. She also has dental issues. So I think the combined stress, and dental issues have contributed to her weight loss. She's always been a small cat but at her highest weight she was 9.6 lbs. I bought these to see if I can get her to gain a little weight back and stimulate her appetite so that she starts eating her regular food. I'm also going to be transitioning from the adult catfood she normally eats/avoids to a senior food for her and my 7 year old. I decided to take her to a quiet room to try the product, otherwise the boys would bombard me for the treat. She usually freaks out when I put her in any room with me and close the door, but as soon as she smelled this food, she was really curious! She sniffed, tasted, looked around the room for her escape route, walked away...came back, sniffed, licked again... and so on. She was unsettled being in this spare room, but she couldn't avoid this food. She loved it! She's really picky but I put it in a little bowl for her so she knew it was cat food and she ate it up after about 4-5 passes by the bowl. Now, others have said they felt ripped off by the tiny portion, so I want to highlight this point. This is NOT a cat FOOD. this is a high calorie food SUPPLEMENT. Think of it as a vitamin... it's IN ADDITION to what your cat normally eats. It's not intended to be a complete meal, so of course the portion will be small. Could you imagine a meal sized high calorie supplement? She'd gain 50 pounds in the first month. Or maybe that's just me. So yes, it is a tiny portion because it is not a meal. think outside the box! However, it is a great value at 20 packs for $10, especially if it can potentially save your cat's life by helping them regain some muscle and energy which then improves their mood and makes them more likely to eat their regular food. And if you're in a multiple-cat household as I am, it's also a great way to have some quality time with your oldest friend. Hopefully I can update this review in the future and tell you that she's put back on a pound. But as for the taste, it was a massive hit!

I have purchased countless things on Amazon thoughout the last decade and can't really recall the last time I wrote a review for anything. This I feel is so necessary and could help someone who is undecided. I have a 16 year old female cat who has always been petite (7/8lbs). As she's aging, we could feel her bones, the hair between her eyes and ears thinning, the increase in sleeping hours,etc. My biggest concern was her weight, she really can't afford to be any thinner and my goal was to just maintain whatever she was holding on to. Well, I couldn't be more satisfied with this product! She doesn't feel as boney and perhaps has put on some weight, hair is back and she's undoubtedly more alert. She loves this pouch and in the 3/4 weeks she's been having it, she seeks it out! Buy it, try it, no regrets!

My senior cat has become picky about her food at age 14. She prefers smooth textures like broths and gravies. As she ages, I worry about her getting enough nutrients. Luckily, she seems to like these packets. I just squirt one in a bowl and she laps it up. It is thicker than some of the other brands that I’ve used. The consistency reminds me a bit of peanut butter or tomato paste. I did expect the packets to be a little larger for the cost. Regardless, I will give my princess whatever she will eat at this point so I will continue to supply them to her as long as she likes them!

My cat is on a low phosphorus diet, and these work with his diet. It's a supplement, so it's not intended as a meal. I've had to cut back on his kibble, so this helps keep him at a good weight. They came in handy too driving across country when he was stressed and not eating normally. He loves them, and I knew he would at least eat these to get calories and moisture. I've also shared them with my parent who has two aged and ailing kitties. I believe it has helped with their weight and appetite since I started giving them these once a day. Again, just as a supplement. They can be a little more finicky though. Some days they chow it down, and others, they turn up their noses. But that seems to be with any food. Overall, I think these are very useful as a calorie supplement for senior kitties, and they fall within the good range for my kitty's low phosphorus diet.

My old cat liked it keeps her going

Love these for my elderly cat but I dont understand why the delivery date seems to always get pushed back. I even subscribed so that it could be on a schedule and still have have to wait longer. Somewhere, someone is dropping the ball.
