DELICIOUS!
This Chai powder from Waka is so good! I read reviews that said it was "too peppery" and after buzzing over the ingredients, had to try it. Most mass produced chai leans on cinnamon for the warmth you feel from the cup, but I prefer the depth that a broader range of flavors like ginger, cardamom and yes, black pepper lend. This delivers that depth and flavor with astonishing clarity. The powder comes in a rather small bag with a tiny scoop to dispense a measured serving amount. I like strong chai so based on another reviewer's advise, used two scoops in my first 10 ounce cup, which was actually strong, and sooooooooo nice. The powder is not sweetened, which allows an adjustment to your liking. I use dark brown sugar, maple syrup, or honey most of the time. Without the bulk sugar can add, those tiny scoops will go a long way. The bag says it makes 195 servings, but even at half that number it's a great value for around $10. In an 8 ounce or smaller cup, 1 scoop is plenty and delivers a softer but still very enjoyable experience. The flavor is consistent cup after cup, and displays accurately the ingredients used. That said, while the black pepper adds to the flavor, it is not overwhelming the more dominant aromatic components in the ginger, cardamom or cloves used. It reminds me of house chai I've had and made with a rich a sweet-spiciness. Whether it's served hot or cold, it warms your soul going down, I swear. One of the best things about this powder is you can use it for more than tea. I have added it to coffee, warm apple cider, I sprinkled some on vanilla ice cream(so good!!) and even added a couple scoops to some chicken in a skillet and served it on rice and that worked too! This will be a staple in my house moving forward.

Hooked at first try!
Tried the original and vanilla and love them both but I like the vanilla better - somehow the spice is more evident, perhaps as a contrast to the vanilla. Both are plenty strong. I missed that all of these are completely unsweetened, not just zero sugar as in artificial - it's completely left out which was a nice surprise as I'd rather be in control of that anyways. My entire kitchen became fragrant as soon as I opened the bags, was very fresh and invigorating, and was pleasantly surprised walking back into the kitchen a few times later on to still smell the spices. I also misread the instructions as 1 scoop per 4oz oz instead of 1 scoop + 4 oz hot water PLUS 4 more oz of milk (or 8 oz total if only using water.) I used 2 scoops of the mix with 4 oz hot water and 4 oz steamed milk + brown coconut sugar and both were amazing, but again, the vanilla was my favorite and felt more spiced despite having the exact same ingredients aside from the regular. Neither feel "peppery" to me, although the spice is enough warm your throat regardless of the temperature you drink the tea. It is very smooth to drink but does leave some sediment in the cup - to me it's not bad at all, you can still enjoy the last sip if you swirl it up as it's not too gritty.

Strong bold taste no sugar
Strong, great flavor, no sugar. This was exactly what I needed. Unfortunately it gave me acid reflux, could be the strength of the brew I made and the potent spices, but I truly love the flavor and bold chai taste. Not spicey, just a perfect blend. Ass oat milk and it was perfect.

The worst chai ive ever had!
The worst chai tea ive ever had the displeasure of tasting. The one scoop in hot water was weak and tasteless so i thought i hadnt added enough. I made a cup with two scoops and it was unbelievably gross. Like hot water with actual hot spices in it. Not even close to chai and spicy like something I would season a chicken with, not that Id use it for that because it is horrible tasting. I cannot believe someone created this and sold it. The seller refused a refund so i forced one thru amazon. So gross.

Affordable easy to make.
Love the taste of Chai Tea? Tired of making it by the bag one cup at a time? This is the perfect blend for you. I use it to make a whole pitcher. Easy to use and tastes great.

Dirty Chai excellent
This powder has a real spice kick. The dirty chai. A little goes a long way. I had to use less powder than indicated. But the flavor is rich and spicy. I also love the fact that it doesn't have sugar in it, or maybe a tiny amount, because I can use my own monkfruit. Love it, will save me so much money from having to go to Starbucks.

Eh, its ok
Not bad but not my favorite and probably wont buy again. Dissolves okay but not completely so there was a bunch at the bottom and sides of my mug so it created a weird texture. Taste is not what I expected, more spicy than spiced.

Not for me
When I opened the bag it smelled really good, I just wish it tastes as good. I was really hoping this would be the one but I’m disappointed. Now that being said, not everybody’s taste buds are after the same flavors. I was looking for something to replace the concentrate I’ve been buying at the stores because they’re all so sweet even with artificial sweetener so I wanted something without any so I could add my own sweetener to my taste. The flavor I’m after is the one you usually get from Starbucks or Dutch Brothers without all the sugar and chemical sweeteners but this one was just not that unfortunately. Gonna try making my own concentrate now, tired of wasting money on disappointing products.
