Exactly what I wanted
I bought a doggie door that was 3 inches too short so I ordered this extender and installed the door much to my doggo delight. They can now get to the yard.

Works but you may need 2
I originally thought the extender was defective as it does not necessarily slide on. The inside has ridges to grip the door and I was afraid I’d damage the door by forcing the extender on. Not the case - it just needs a little pressure to slide on.That said, I will need 2 extenders in order to make the screen work as I have tall doors.
