Easy Application Simply cut a horizontal slot to required width in the mortar bed & ensure all debris is removed. Apply CE1 grout to the back of the slot and insert the Brickfix helical bar Apply another bead of CE1 grout and compress to fill any small voids in the masonry The high performance grout firmly secures the bars to form a strong, durable and flexible repair Using matching mortar, the slot should then be repointed. The crack was brought on by the force of tree roots which I removed a couple of years ago. Re-pointing alone didn't stop the crack from reappearing, albeit minor at this stage I didnt want to wait to see if it got any worse. I made a start before reciving the kit and ground out too many courses of motar than needed. I just used the equipment provided to repoint those not required. I liked the fact that the kit had everything I needed and the equipment was very good quality. I struggled getting the both the bond matereal and motar for repointing into the washable tubes and made quite a mess. Once in, it was very easy to use and worked well.
