This is what a telescopic controller should be...
To start with I have tried a few different telescopic controllers, and have fount that this is one of the most comfortable ones I've used. When it comes to gaming, my preferred way to play is big screen TV, comfy sofa to sink into, and my XBOX series X, as I'm a casual console gamer and like to game in comfort. In addition, I have very large hands and thick fingers, so a larger controller is much more comfortable to me. However, since having a baby and the Xbox being in the room he sleeps (we share a house with family), and the only time I can game is when he's asleep, means that I can't play in my preferred way. Since discovering remote playfor my XBOX though, this has been a game changer, allowing me to game when I can. It is clearly different than my preferred way of gaming, but it's still good to have the option to play on my downtime!! With the introduction out of the way, I will get into the details. This is amazing. Period. The fact I can use a case of 1 mm thick and it still works is awesome. The fact that it's a wired connection is fast and snappy, and doesn't affect the lag like Bluetooth controllers can, and the feel is high quality. It has everything you need to play on XBOX, PlayStation and emulators, though I don't do this part, only XBOX remote play. The feel of the co roller is compact enough that it doesn't feel bulky which is a good, but a tiny bit bad which I'll explain. It does feel like a 3/4 size controller. But with me having large hands it still feel a little cramped. Mainly the location of the D-pad and the right stick. They are a little bit too close to left stick and face buttons respectively. This is a tiny issue as I mentioned, as I just work around it by shifting my grip a little. Anyone with small, medium or even slightly large hands will feel comfortable using this, for even long gaming sessions! The sticks are buttery smooth due to the anti friction rings, and the face buttons and D-pad have a weighty pressing feeling, and you know when you've pressed them with the satisfying feedback of each press. The bumpers and triggers are console quality and have a perfect resistance when pressed, and again, you know exactly when you've pressed them as they have great feedback also. There are map able buttons on the hand grips but I don't use them, but they are easy to program and change on the fly should you need to. To summarise, this is an excellent wiece of kit that will absolutely improve your mobile gaming experience ten fold, and is absolutely worth the $79.99 price tag. UPDATE: I've been using this controller for 14 months on a very regular basis, and it has been incredible for that time. The controller has held up very well, the buttons still just as responsive as the day I got it, the connection is still flawless, and feels amazing still. But the other day I came to use it and the pass through charging has stopped working. It has worked every time from day one (with dozens and dozens of times I've pass through charged my phone), but now it has finally gone to sleep. Though this is a negative, it could be the hundreds of hours I've used it that it's worn out, but I just wanted to give my long term update in case you are unlucky enough (like me) to have this happen to you and what to maybe expect after over a year of heavy use. I can still use every other aspect of the controller with no issues, just I have to think ahead about charging my phone before and after a gaming session, as the pass through has stopped working and my phone doesn't charge whilst using the controller anymore. I kept the rating at 5 stars though, as it could be an isolated issue, or a line run problem. But just in case you're a heavy user, this is something to consider, especially when traveling, where charging your phone may be more limited.

Watch the video too. THIS IS THE MOBILE GAMING HANDHELD KILLER
This is the best gaming pad for s phone I've ever used and im cominh from a Razer kishi V2 but i got huge hands so that felt way to small for me to game for more than twenty min. But the gamesir g8 is like a regular size cotroller split in half its amazing. You can play xbox game pass .nvidia now, steam linrary, remote play pc xbox and playstation flawlessly. You just gotta get by the jenky gamesir app. You meed it to commect the comtroller to do firmware uodates and to calibrate the g8 after that you can close that app and juat open any gaming app and the g8 is gonna shiw up to work my friends and it's extremely good at its job let me tell you. You habe two buttons under ghe comtroller to mod to wahevwr you want them to me mapped you can add tirno to buttons and the sticks are hall sensors no more drift stick and the triggers are actually pressure sensitive and the rest of the buttoms habe a nice sounding click or clack. Now for thw elephant in the room. Look i s tried atleast ten cases with my s2; to worl with this thimg and mot ome woukd work ....... thats until i had a idea and it actually worled perfectly. You just habe to cut the rubber off one side of g8 now before you start thinking im a idiot here me Out. On the left and right side of ghe g8 you have these runner fingers if you will well the ones om the right side with the usb c sticking out those fingers are stopping the usb c port to go further into hour isb c phone jack so it wont power on the g8. But if you take a exacto knife and in the video youll see exactly where i cut oit the runner on both sides and under ghe usb c jack. Now i just made the rubber flush with the light hrey pladtic of the g8 only on the usb c side. And now that gives ghe usb c jack a longer reach to your phone port. Now you domt got tonworry anout dropping your phone woth no case on it while trying to put it in ghe g8. Now its nice and sage in its case and still powering on the g8 and it gits in there better than perfect and it dont wonble or mobe around for nothing. See bideo of me shaking my g8 violently and no reaction from it. Look no one wants to cit there new toy but ladies and gents this is the only way your gonna use this device without the risk of dropping your 1500$ phone on the ground to get some robolox in. Now it will be fine i promise gou. It works mint this way im tellinh you just look at my bideo and you try and find a phone case with a one millimeter bottom that is gonna protect your phone if you drop iy. This is the ONLY WAY THIS COMTROLLER WILL WORK WITH ANY PHONE WHILST HAVING A CASE ON IT. MY WAY WORKS AWESOME IT EVEN LOOKS LIKE ITS SUPPOSED TO BE THAT WAY ANYWAY. DONT LET THE BERY BEAT CONTROLLER PASS YOU BY CAUSE YOUR SCARED TO CIT SOME RUBBER OFF IT. NOW COME ON WE ARE ALL SMART HERE WAYCH THE BIDE AND TELL ME THAT AFTER MINE WAS CUT IT DIDNT LOOK LIKE IT WAS SENT TO LE THAT WAY. AND THAT IS A SAMSUNG S24 ultra with a ringke case on it and it works so awesome. Give it a go peeps For real there isnt anything this comtroller Cant do Its top of the line for a mediocre price. At this price point wiyh all it can access and do they are givimg these things away. There isnt a comtroller on the market neyyer unless iys a dual sense ps5 controller or a xbox elite series controller. Its that good remember to watch the video and when cutting cut away from the usb c out not towards the usb c. Let the plastic of the case be your guide. And kiddos ouy there have your mum or pop do the cutting cause you womy be anle to play if you hury yourself. Use caution when ising sharp onjects and dont run with them

Great controller
This controller has been pretty great for my iPhone 15 Pro! I’ve played a few light sessions of Call of Duty Mobile, Minecraft on iPhone, and also Steam Link to stream PC games to my phone. The controller feels very nice in the hands and conforms to my iPhone very well during playthrough. Though even though this advertises it works with most cases, it does not work with my Quad Lock case for iPhone 15 Pro. It is too thick and I have to take off the case each time to play which is annoying. I’ve also used the charging port which works well for longer playtimes, even though I don’t play long. But also good so I can charge and put it down and pick it up a short time later with more charge. I haven’t done any actual tests, but the charge time does feel slower when through the controller than through just going into the iPhone. It’s not a big deal, but I wish something was mentioned about how the iPhone detects a “battery” in this controller despite there not being a battery. My iPhone (in the widget and Settings) originally reported this controller to have a 100% charge but now always says it has a 5% charge. There was no mention of this anywhere on this page or the manual but there is no battery in the controller and the iPhone is not reporting truthfully for some reason. One thing I am pleasantly surprised about that does not seem to be advertised or talked about is that this controller CAN be used externally with bigger devices. I can confirm that this DOES work with my iPad Pro 12.9” 5th gen and also works with both my Windows laptop and desktop gaming PC. Though the method used is kind of janky, it does surprisingly work and there seems to be drivers in Windows to recognize this as a controller! As you may see in my pictures, if you get a USB type C adapter with female ports on both ends and any USB type C cable capable of connecting to your iPad/Windows computer, then the iPad/Windows PC will detect it and use it as a controller without any additional software! I have legitimately used this to play Minecraft on a bigger screen on my iPad Pro as well as play some games in Steam on my Windows PCs and it all works. It is so cool. I am a bit disappointed to see that the rubber material that sits under the phone is already fading after nearly not very much use of the controller. It’s not a horrible thing I’d use to not recommend this controller, but it is disappointing to see that the cool design etched in doesn’t last too long. I was also disappointed in the available selection of magnetic faceplates at the time of writing this because I am not seeing any available or even with a “coming soon”. Not that this is a dealbreaker, again, but it’s advertised here and seems like a cool feature that isn’t being utilized at all. The price is a bit more than I was expecting, but it’s not wholly unreasonable compared to others on the market too, especially when you have others that don't have the same comfort design being much more. All in all, I’m happy with this and very glad to have it. I’m having a blast with it and recommend it!

PLAYSTATION PORTAL KILLER!!!
AMAZING MOBILE CONTROLLER!!! Look I want to give this controller 5 stars but due to a few items, I can't. it is so dang close to being a perfect device that it is shocking. Let me start out by saying if you are thinking about buying one, stop thinking about it and do it. Now let's get into the review. The controller is comfortable for what it is, however, because it is very close to a full-scale controller GameSir missed a few things. First, the placement of the LEFT STICK and D-PAD could be a little better. Understandably, this is a mobile controller but because they went with a profile close to a full-size controller they could have made some minor modifications to address the LEFT STICK and D-PAD placement. Since I am talking about the sticks and d-pad let me state that they work great. The sticks are smooth and comfortable to use because of their size. Now switching to the right side of the controller, again GameSir missed the mark a little with the buttons. The buttons feel very nice and have the response of a full-size controller, but they need to be BIGGER. GameSir simply made the buttons a little too small for this controller. In addition, the color palette could have been better the lilac and purple are just too retro. I would have appreciated a multi-color button color palette. Now I am guessing that GameSir wanted to make the button caps replaceable but decided to remove the feature. They did make the LEFT and RIGHT STICKS replaceable, so you can use some Extreme Rate caps to modify the controller sticks. Moving on to the triggers, no complaints about the triggers as they are nice and large, very responsive, and have a great feel. If anything if they added some trigger stops to the triggers they would elevate the controller to another level; keep in mind this is the only item I can find to bring up on the triggers. The bumpers on the other hand need to be a bit longer. The placement of the bumpers is fine but they are a little too short to accurately hit when moving from trigger to bumper. The bumpers again like all the other controls are very satisfying when pressed. The placement and sizing issues that I have brought up seemed to be due to the controller being designed for small-hand adults or children between the ages of 8-14. I do want to address other parts of the design a little before wrapping up this review. The adjustable USB-C adapter is genius it helps the controller to accept any Android USB-C phone as well as iPhone 15 models. The device also has pass-through USB-C charging and a 3.5mm headphone jack. In addition, it offers multiple modes to allow you to play Android games, Playstation Remote, and XBOX Cloud Gaming. This thing is packed with almost every feature desired for mobile gaming! Now we get to the number 1 elephant in the room with this device! This controller is expandable and will squeeze in a phone or more importantly a TABLET up to 7 inches or 177mm in length. WHY GAMESIR!!! WHY!!! If only the device had been designed to expand out to 8.6 inches or 218mm in length it would have been able to expect 8-inch tablets; thus killing the very shameful and disappointing PlayStation Portal. Now I still stand by my headline when I say this is the PLAYSTATION PORTAL KILLER as there are several tutorials online that address this issue and ways to fix it. These modifications will 100% void your warranty but they do exist. Final thoughts for interested or potential buyers, GET IT BEFORE IT GOES ON BACK ORDER! Thoughts for GameSir; please introduce a G8 Pro or G8 Ultra that addresses the expansion issue. What would be even more welcome introduce a G9 that addresses the expansion and sizing issues.

The answer to mobile gaming at a perfect price point
This is the first mobile phone gaming controller I have ever purchased, but I am genuinely impressed. They did not cut any corners with this product and managed to deliver at an excellent price point. The buttons and sticks feel very responsive and seem durable. The fit with my samsung s25 plus is perfect and makes it look like an actual console. Also, for a guy with big wide palms, this feels great to hold and not cramped at all for a moderate gaming session. Very well done!

Best Mobile Controller I've Used
TL;DR: best controller I've ever used, and it works with a thin case on Red Magic 8 Pro. I am using the G8 with the Red Magic 8 Pro with a relatively thin case. I've used the Backbone and Razer Kishi 1 for iPhone 13 Pro Max and GameSir X2 Bluetooth on both Android and iOS, and the GameSir G8 is, by far, my favorite mobile controller. While it is large, it's for the better. It feels like I'm holding an Xbox or Switch Pro controller, which is far more comfortable than the previously mentioned controllers. The other remotes I've used felt like I was using a Vita, which is fine, but after getting used to the Switch, is a bit cramping. The buttons feel right. I can't exactly explain how, but the buttons and sticks don't "feel cheap". Not overly clicky (my preference), but doesn't feel like I'm pressing into a pencil eraser. The trigger buttons (L2/R2) feel great to press, but kinda wish there was a little more resistance. May be cuz I'm used to Haptic Feedback from the ps5, but it's not a huge negative (I wouldn't even consider it a negative). The GameSir app seems iffy to me. Don't know why it needs certain permissions (like Location), but I only plan to use it for the button mapping for games like Genshin Impact. The Red Magic 8 Pro button mapping is serviceable, but the camera control/mapping is jittery as hell, which makes playing Genshin Impact feel like I'm playing with mapping on. The button mapping from GameSir is amazing! Not only is the camera issue gone (if anything, it is TOO sensitive, on that later), but offers combination inputs, which Red Magic doesn't offer (that I'm aware of). I've mapped the game with near identical inputs as the ps5 version of the game, and it feels like I'm playing it with native controller support. I haven't messed with the button sensitivity features, but is available, so, my issue with "camera sensitivity" can be fixed to my liking. There's also 2 mappable buttons on the back. I don't use them, but for those that do, enjoy Now, a major plus. IT CAN BE USED WITH A CASE ON!!!! I hate having to remove my phone case, and always get paranoid about dropping my phone while trying to connect the phone with a mobile controller with a connector. When I first attached the phone with the G8, it didn't get recognized, and took the case off. After a few hours of testing, setting up, and playing with the controller, I decided to try with the case again. Didn't work. Then, I get it a small "squeeze" (just enough to make sure it connects), AND IT WORKED!!!! I decided to keep playing to make sure it didn't disconnect or give me issues, AND IT DIDN'T. It plays flawlessly with my case. My case has a transparent back with a MagSafe kickstand and a black trim trim with "teeth" in the corners. The "teeth" hug around the rubber grips of the controller, making it a perfect fit. The price may seem high, especially compared to other $40 controllers (like some GameSir sells), but trust, the extra cost is worth it. It is beyond comfortable, feels like a console controller, works with a thin case, has great button mapping from their app, the price is between the cheapest and expensive controllers, and is the best controller I've ever used. If I could rate this higher, I would.

Hands down the best mobile controller on the market, period.
I am so happy I chose this controller when I was looking around. I've had so many other mobile controllers and not one of them had thumb sticks that felt like an actual console controllers thumb sticks. The others were always way too small and had barely any range of motion. Not to mention these are hall effect sticks so stick drift is something I don't have to expect happening 6 months from now. The triggers are hall effect as well. It's got 3 modes you can set it to. One is based off an Xbox controller. The next changes it to be like a switch layout and the last mode is for games without controller support where mapping is needed so you can still use a controller anyway. The grips are perfect size and just give their item the quality feel in your hands that it most def deserves. The buttons are nice and clicky. When I say this thing feels and works just like your console controller, I really do mean that. As far as using it with a case on your phone; this does work as long as it's not a bulky case. There's an app that goes with the controller as well, which will let you update the firmware as well as customize a ton of things i.e. deadzones, haptic strength, etc. If your looking around for a mobile controller with no input lag, this is hands down the king of this type of product. For the price it's listed at, it's a steal all day long. The premium feel and quality will let you know immediately you made the right choice. Super durable.

Elevate Mobile Gaming To Near Console Level
Having recently switched to the GameSir G8 Galileo Type-C Mobile Gaming Controller for my iPhone 15, I’ve found it to be a considerable upgrade from my previous Backbone controller. This controller deserves a strong 4-star rating for its impressive features and functionality. The ergonomics of the GameSir G8 Galileo are outstanding. It feels akin to holding a high-quality console controller like the DualSense or an Xbox controller. This ergonomic design makes a significant difference, especially when playing games that demand longer sessions. I’ve particularly enjoyed using it for games like ‘Sonic Dream Team’ and ‘Resident Evil Village’, where the comfortable grip and responsive controls have greatly enhanced my gaming experience. The removable and replaceable joysticks are a game-changer, literally. This not only makes the controller more durable by allowing for easy maintenance but also ensures a longer life for the device. The build quality is exceptional, with a premium feel that is immediately noticeable. Despite its many strengths, there are areas where the GameSir G8 Galileo could improve. A variety of color options would be a nice touch, allowing for a more customized look. For future versions, the addition of features such as rumble feedback, a built-in battery, and Bluetooth connectivity would be fantastic. These features would make the controller compatible with a range of devices, including Apple TV, Mac, PC, and Nintendo Switch, while maintaining its utility for direct USB-C connection to the phone without needing a charge. In summary, the GameSir G8 Galileo is an excellent mobile gaming controller, especially for games like ‘Sonic Dream Team’ and ‘Resident Evil Village’. Its ergonomic design, replaceable joysticks, and superb build quality make it a standout product. With some enhancements in color variety and connectivity options, it could become the perfect all-in-one controller for various gaming platforms.

Perfect + amazing value
Bought for some android gaming but especially streaming via Xbox or PC; works almost flawlessly for cloud gaming provising you have decent fibre internet speeds. Anything running on the phone native works great with the controller which is extremely comfortable, robust and correct size, an issue with the Nintendo Switch joycons for example. Honestly I would never consider playing proper android games before owning this but now it's like a having a fully powered console. Deffo worth £80. Minor cons would be very slight wiggle as it's not secured with any clips or something, and the phone connector is quite delicate but TBF I haven't had an issue to date. If you want a switch, ps portal or steam deck etc this isn't the same but covers much of the same potential at a fraction of the cost. The fact you don't need Bluetooth and batteries etc is excellent as well, it's effectively a large phone case with gaming controls. Awesome
