Easy to use and understand; fun
I didn't want to spend a lot on a alcohol-level reader because I wasn't sure how often I'd use it and not sure how accurate any of them are so I bought this one because it was the cheapest by the company that seemed reliable and because it was so small as to be easily carried around in my pocket and because it allows you to see your results and track your history on your iPhone or Android by downloading the app. Also, I figured it was an easy thing to lose while out drinking, so didn't want to spend a hundred bucks on it. Setting up takes just a second and you can charge it with the USB port, so that's fast. It's intuitive so you can pretty much go from there. To test it, turn it on and check; it should be 0.0. Start drinking - wait 15-20 minutes - and take your first reading. The number should go up, maybe 0.01 or even 0.02. The more you drink, the higher it will go; that's how you know it's working. As to accuracy, I think so. There were two of us and mine rose in level slower than his; I weigh 30 pounds more than he does so it takes more alcohol to get me drunk than him, I think, plus I have a higher tolerance due to heavier use over the past 40 years, lol. The most important things to remember, as they will remind you in the instructions, is that you need to wait 15-20 minutes after each drink to get a good reading; if you check your level earlier, your body hasn't absorbed it enough. Don't worry that if you don't take a reading right away it won't be accurate; it's the opposite: you need to wait for it to be accurate. (Sort of the opposite of waiting 30 minutes after eating to go swimming, lol.) Also, this is for fun; no guarantees that you're not drunker than they say. Also, remember that you're expecting levels to be 0.0x, not 0.x, know what I mean? In many states, a 0.08 level will get you a DUI. NOT 0.8. If you blow a 0.8, you're already dead. So if you want to get the highest number if you're out with friends and think it's funny to see who gets drunkest, stop at 0.14, not 1.4. If you blow a 1.4, you're already dead. The only problem I've had is I haven't been able to figure out how to get the tester to switch back from when you use the app to just getting the result from the tester. You should be able to test it both ways, I think; not using the app you should be able to just test and if you want to store results and get other information, you switch the tester to a different setting. It's in the instructions but haven't gotten to it yet. The results seem accurate - the numbers went up the more I drank. Again, wait before you test or you'll get a crazy number, and that number might be really high (I think because the alcohol is still partly in your mouth or something like that). Also, breathe deep before you blow. I don't think you have to breathe really, really deep, but even if you do, it won't affect your result adversely. The higher-priced products may be more accurate and/or give you more bells and whistles, so if you plan on using it often or for purposes other than just for fun (or, if you drink a lot all the time and want to have something reliable that might last a long time, buy those). I'm glad I have this; I should've purchased one years ago. It does make me more aware of the effects of each drink and now I can measure how my level changes compared to how I feel after each drink.

I watch bodycam vids on Youtube.
Nifty little device. I dont drive but got it so i can check my BAC/calculate how much alchy my body can handle. Very light weight i tossed onto my housekeys for easy carry and can help others not DWI. Breathing into it with/without mouth piece isnt complicates. I cant speak on the app since i havent connected it. So far seens decently effective and accurate. Would prefer it to have been cheaper. But i used a GC for it

Worth the money
I had a $14 breathalyzer and I decided to upgrade to this. I have an interlock in my car and I drink on the weekends, so I want to make sure I'm good by Monday for work. This thing was worth the $. The app functionality is super easy. You open the app, turn it on and select "take a test". What I like about the app is it tells you how many hours until you're sober. The app is very user friendly. Also my last breathalyzer made all kind of noise, when you blow over the limit noises go off like alarms. I ultimately put a piece of duct tape over the speaker. This one only beeps when you are done with your blow. Quiet, compact and gets the job done. It comes with 1 AAA battery. I would definitely repurchase but it comes with a 1 year warranty, you just have to go online to register. **Remember to put it in APP mode where you can use the app with it, you have to press and hold the power button for 7 seconds**

Calibration requirements render this product useless
When I first received mine, I loved having it so I could have the peace of mind that I was safe to drive. However, over time (and not that long either - like a few months), it started to seem less accurate. At first I thought perhaps the drinks were weak at a particular bar and that explained why perhaps I blew a lower number than I thought I would. However, when I put it to the test while I was knowingly absolutely drunk, it showed a .01 reading. If you look deep in the instruction manual, the manufacturer suggests calibrating the unit every 6 months. Well, calibration cost $20 each time plus the hassle of having to ship it to them and wait 2-3 weeks for them to return it to you; only to have to repeat that every few months. Plus, since the calibration seems to slip a little with each use, it gives me no confidence whatsoever in the accuracy of the reading so my feeling is that it is more accurate and reliable to simply count drinks and stick to the one drink per hour rule, etc. If it did not require calibration or even if the calibration could be done easily by me at home, I would say this is a great product. However, I can not endorse it due to the need for such frequent calibration. Useless and could even be dangerous by giving people false low readings and making them think they are safe and legal to drive when they are actually not.

First one I received was defective, but the replacement works perfectly
Item was defective on arrival, and will not function, showing only [ERROR: TEMPERATURE] despite both indoor and outdoor ambient temperatures being well within the stated operating range. Cannot be returned, although Amazon did issue me a refund for a defective product. I may order a replacement and may update this review if I do. UPDATE: I ordered a replacement and it works as intended. Just bad luck on the first unit I received, I guess.

Works very well and easy to carry around
Works super good, had mine for about 6 years before it finally gave out, but it was used enough to go though about 3 batteries. So quality was not an issue. Didn’t really use the app, but if you would like to keep track and try and get a high score, the app with do that for you.

Simple, Reliable, and Worth It
I wasn’t expecting to like this as much as I do, but the BACtrack C6 has honestly been really solid. I mainly wanted something small and easy to carry, and the keychain size is perfect — I just keep it on me and don’t have to think about it. What matters most is accuracy, and from what I’ve seen, it’s been consistent. I’ve compared it a couple of times and the readings were pretty much in line, which gives me confidence it’s doing its job. It also warms up quick and gives results fast, so you’re not standing around waiting. The app connection is actually pretty cool too. I don’t use it every time, but it’s helpful when you want a better idea of where you’re at or how long it might take to get back to zero. Overall, it just feels reliable and easy to use. Nothing flashy, just works the way you want it to. Definitely a good buy if you want something you can trust and actually carry with you.

Nurse tested: Will update review
As a nurse- I purchase this device and had a test subject test. The readings were inaccurate… Upon receiving this device, I did put in a new battery to ensure that it was functioning optimally. I reached out to tech-support to see if product needed to be recalibrated. Tech-support mentioned that product is very sensitive and it may take about 15 to 20 times of alcoholic blows for sensor priming to be accurate. Also, following the rules: 20 minutes no eating drinking smoking after the last taste of an alcoholic beverage. An earlier review mentioned it took about 15 tries, and then something just kicked in. And it was working well. I will follow the directions this little keychain states on the manual that this keychain uses police grade blue fire sensor technology. I will update this after I find more test subjects.

Fantastic. Same results as a standard police issue breathalyzer
Very accurate. Tested against a police issue breathalyzer. The same results. App based too so if you dink regular and you want to monitor your situation over weeks or months then this is a great little breathalyzer. .

Ottimo prodotto
Prodotto corrispondente alla descrizione. Imballo ottimo. Pila AAA necessaria compresa.
