FANTASTIC skin improvement supplement! Google DIY face serum and this is a must have ingredient. BulkSupplements Pure Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) is HIGH quality powder with a very reasonable price-tag, that comes in a mylar resealable pouch, and is now a staple for my facial regimen. Try this recipe I found on fairviewfarmlife(dotcom) 1/2 tsp Ascorbic Acid; 5 tsp. rose or distilled water {this is important as the high oxygen content in tap water will cause the Vit. C to break down faster.}; 3 tsp. almond oil; 1/2 tsp. olive/jojoba/coconut {basically any carrier oil}; 3 drops geranium essential oil; 3 drops lavender essential oil; {I add 1/2 tsp. of Hyaluronic acid which I also buy from BulkSupplements, and when using distilled water, I sometimes sub rosehip oil in place of the geranium}. First mix the Vit. C crystals with the rose OR distilled water. Stir frequently until completely dissolved. This may take up to 20 minutes, but you want to make sure you don't have a grainy mixture. Also, do not heat the distilled water. Heat will cause the Vit. C to break down and you want the maximum effectiveness on your skin. Add the rest of the ingredients and then stir until mixed well. Then carefully funnel into a 2 oz. small dark dropper bottle {You need a dark bottle as the light can cause the ascorbic acid to lose potency}, and shake shake shake your way to younger, more beautiful skin. I phrase it that way because you really need to shake it up! It may take a couple of days to completely rid the serum of the gritty feel, but after that you'll get a magical solution to dry, aging skin and the proof will be in the mirror as well as the compliments you will be showered with. Please note, if you follow this recipe, do NOT double as it will only keep for up to two weeks. After that, the serum loses potency. Ascorbic acid breaks down fast and you want it to be super fresh for maximum absorption. Shake it up before each use, and apply at night after cleansing and follow up with a moisturizer. VOILA! Before you know it you'll be looking years younger and have a spring in your step because of it! Here's to OUR youth!

I decided to try Bulk Supplements Ascorbic Acid powder along with Hyaluronic Acid powder to make my own vitamin C serum. I recently bought a premade serum without realizing that vitamin c degrades rather quickly. It didn't seem to be doing anything and was costly. I put some on one forearm and not the other and couldn't see any difference. I received my Bulk Supplements order in a timely fashion and followed directions others have put in the comments here-filtered water, Ascorbic Acid Powder and hyaluronic Acid Powder. I also typed "vitamin c serum recipe" and found several at other sites to try. This product is fresh. I can feel the tingling when I apply it, whereas with the purchased serum I felt nothing. Do not put too much vit. C in the serum-it can be too strong for the skin. "if a little is good, more is better" does NOT apply here. You must moisturize after you let it dry/soak in for a couple minutes.I have sensitive skin and had to stop using soap and cleansers on my face. I mix 3 parts organic cold-pressed coconut oil(gently melt first)and 1 part olive oil. I "wash" my face with it and then using the warm water in the shower and a wash cloth, scrub my face. It melts away even the most stubborn makeup and dry skin. I then put the serum on my dry face, wait a few minutes while I dress and then use a little of the coconut oil as a moisturizer. It soaks in and isn't greasy. my skin is looking more radiant, healthier and it may even be reducing the appearance of fine lines. I look better so I am going with it! I am over 55 and have very dry skin. Most wrinkle creams whether expensive or cheap do nothing for me. In fact, my face will flake. Ever since I started using the homemade Vit. c serum and the coconut/olive oil, it hasn't flaked even once! combine that with the comments that I don't look my age and I am sold!

5 stars going for Bulk Supplements: - The order arrived promptly and the packaging was excellent -sturdy and the good quality closing zipper (not always the case) - Customer service reached out and offered to provide a sample for an additional product in exchange of a review (I picked hyaluronic acid); our brief interaction showed fantastic customer dedication and a lot of professionalism - The product(s) is /are wonderful and the size is such that the product will last a long time. The ascorbic acid is very fresh: pleasant in taste and effective for skin application. I use it both as dietary supplement in my raspberry/hibiscus tea, and as a Vitamin C serum for topical application (along with the hyaluronic acid I got as free sample). Neither the ascorbic acid nor the hyaluronic acid had any trouble dissolving in water. I'm never again spending so much money on Emergen-C or equivalent pouches - it's so much better to just add a little Vitamin C to whatever I'm already enjoying as a drink, and so much less expensive! As far as topical application - after two week of applying the serum I finally get what people mean when they say Vitamin C serums make your skin "brighter" - none of the commercial purchases of the serum/hyaluronic acid, not even the one prepared by my dermatologist's lab, ever had this quick and profound effect before. I will catch myself in the mirror and can't help but admire the sheen and feel oh so very proud of myself. In summary, I paid for the ascorbic acid, then got hyaluronic acid for free, cooked up a couple concoctions and am a happy customer for life. In fact, buying some more for my mother and sisters. Hope it helps!

I chose to try this vitamin C supplement because it's in powder form. I have a malabsorption issue, and I need supplements to be as bioavailable as possible. The taste is as one would expect -- tart. The powder is very clean and white. I use a shaker cup and just mix with water and sometimes fresh lemon and lime slices. I don't mind the taste at all. In addition to the vit C, I add collagen, and am ordering this company's MSM supplement to add as well. I'll review the MSM desperately after receiving it, of course. By the way, a serving is a very small amount, so it should last quite some time. The only reason I gave it four stars, is because I have not used it long enough to evaluate effectiveness.

I already have my own natural high levels of energy but this item does add a little extra boost to my day. I love how it eases your energy levels up and down without any major crash. I use this as a boosting agent for other supplements but the added energy is a bonus. It keeps me from grabbing an energy drink at the end of the day. To me there really isn’t a taste and or at least not what you may expect. It’s very subtle but there. Like I said I mix it with other supplements but I can taste the difference when it is in the mixture and when it is not in it. I guess you can call it a subtle tang-ish taste. But not like actually eating an orange or similar fruit. Best taken with distilled water!
