Rectifier Regulator for Yamaha XVS 1100 Xvs1100 V-star 1100 99-03

My old stock voltage regulator went out on a ride (of course). Speedometer dropped to zero when ever I put on a turn signal, headlight getting dim etc. I looked up online and found that this was a better choice for my 2002 XVS1100 over the direct replacement one. It says it's for the 99-03, but if you look at yours compared to the pic, you'll see that this new one will need a little modification to fit.The 99-03 V-Star regulators are sort of a stretch octagon shape. To get this new one to fit, you're going to have to trim the corners with a hacksaw or cutoff wheel. These square corner regulators are supposed to be a better regulator than the "correct" one.I cut the corners, shot some spray paint on it bolted it in. The electrical plug plugged right in. I've now been riding with this one for several months, and have no problems with it at all.

Says it fit, completely different connector. Ruined my weekend.

AWESOME!!!!!! This was a life saver. After tearing apart the whole electrical system, I discovered the regulator/rectifier was shot. Ordered this one and was back in business in no time. Plug and play ready! A few screws, snapped it in, and then back on the road! Plus......arrived almost a month earlier than expected!

This said that it was a bolt on for my bike and it was almost to big to fit in the space. the bolts would not match either. it did work with the plug and solved my isues so that i could get back to riding. time will tell if it last (i hope it does ) it arived quick happy about thatthank's for amazon good IT invention.

Wasn’t a perfect fit but it is compatible and does the trick on my 2002 Yamaha XVS1100

I bought this regulator after reading the other reviews about the need to trim and adjust but it worked fine. Mine is a 2001 Yamaha VStar 1100 custom, and the factory box had the bottom two corners on a forty five degree angle instead of ninety degree. I did not want to damage my new part so I used a pair of side cutters and cut off the corners of the plastic box. The regulator mounted right up and is working great!

Two weeks of diagnostics trying to figure out why my battery wouldn't hold a charge only to find out it wasnt charging at all... this was a perfect fir for my VStar 1100 Silverado, 30 min to take the old one off and put this one on. Can't beat the price since the shop was asking $120 plus labor, for just over $20 and a half hour of my time my bike was back to running like new.

3 months after install this regulator overcharged and destroyed my $150 agm battery. don't waste your money like i did. it started with 14.5 output but now it is 17 at idle so spend the extra 30 bucks and get good part

This part was to fit my 2001 vstar ...looked the same but the plug was different...look closely at the pic to see if it matches your part....my bad ,but they did refund so no complaints

this part does not fit a 1999 Vstar 1100, after taking apart the right side of the bike and the plug does not fit, therefore I am waiting for the proper part.

Purchased this item , vehicle specific. Electrical connectors not even close. totally useless. Listing on Amazon is far from correct.
